Miss Johnson, a native of Wilkinson County, had lived in Milledgeville for a number of years. She was a Methodist. Survivors include two sisters, Ethel Sapp of Milledgeville and Orlene Council of Crawfordville, Fla.; and a brother, Rufus L. Johnson of Macon. Williams Memorial Chapel of Milledgeville has charge of arrangements. (Note: Juanita Vilena Johnson was the daughter of Luther Sidney Johnson and Vilena Matilda Sanders. She was born May 15, 1913. Dennard, Sr., aged 63, died Thursday, March 3, 1977, in a local hospital. Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 11 o'clock at the First United Methodist Church of Gordon with Reverend Willis Moore officiating. Burial followed in Ramah Cemetery. Mr. Dennard, a lifelong resident of Wilkinson County, was a retired educator, past Wilkinson County School Superintedent, a vocational agricultural teacher, serving in Cherokee and Wilkinson Counties. He was a member and advisor of the Georgia Farm Bureau, a member of the Retired Teacher's Association, a member of the American Legion and an honorary member of the Georgia Sheriff's Association. Mr. Dennard was a veteran of World War II, serving with the 528th anti-aircraft division, and a member of the First United Methodist Church, serving as a member at large of the administrative board. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. marjorie Bozeman Dennard of Gordon; a daughter, Mrs. Charles A. Stewart of Athens; two sons, Hoyt L. Dennard, Jr., of Greenville, South Carolina, and Timothy Dennard of Macon; three sisters, Mrs. Constance Weaver, Mrs. Dorothy McCook, and Mrs. Floy Baggarly, all of Gordon; eight brothers, Emerson Dennard, Glen Dennard, Doyle Dennard, Harrell Dennard, Kenneth Dennard, Larry Dennard, and Roy Dennard, all of Gordon, and Atticus Dennard of Chattanooga, Tennessee; a stepsister, Mrs. H.L.     3. The Toomsboro School will hold its biennial reunion at the Wilkinson County High School outside Irwinton at the cafeteria at 11:00 am on April 1, 2006. All who attended or taught at the school are invited to join in the fellowship and remembrance. A program is planned; however, visiting will be a large part of the event. Please bring photographs, documents and other memorabilia of the school. A catered lunch will be served promptly at 12:00 noon. The cost is $12.50 per person. Mr. Dennard and his family had lived in Red Bank since 1957, when they moved from Daisy, Tenn. He retired in 1979 after 40 years with Southern Railway. Survivors include his wife, Louise Dennard; son, Tommy Dennard, Dowington, PA; two daughters, Elsie Moon, Chattanooga, and Terrie Johnson, Kansas City, KAn; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Red Bank Baptist Church. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. He was a life long resident of Wilkinson County, the son of the late W. Chandler and Alice Johnson Dennard. Mr. Dennard was preceeded in death by his wife Mrs. Doris Weaver Dennard in 1996. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. He was retired from Central State Hospital, a member of the Gordon United Methodist Church, the Gordon Masonic Lodge No. 240, and the Gordon lodge of the Woodman of the World. Mr. Dennard is survived by a son, Binion D. Dennard of Gordon; three sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Dennard McCook, Mrs. Constance Dennard Weaver, and Mrs. Floy Dennard Baggerly, all of Gordon; two brothers, Mr. Glynn Dennard and Mr. Royce Dennard, both of Gordon; three granchildren; 3 great-granc hildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral service was conducted for Mr. Doyle Candler at 2:30 p/m/ Sunday in the Gordon United Methodist Church. The Reverends Hugh Shirah and Tommy McCook officiated. She was a member of of the Loyal Order of Eastern Star, Milledgeville Chapter, and a member of AARP. Survivors include her sister, Sybil Johnson Hein of Macon; her brother Sidney L. Johnson of Wrightsville; two nieces, Becky Howard of Macon and Jeanie McDonald of Bonaire; two great-nieces, Jennifer Swinford of Macon, and Suan Watson of Fort Valley.
