Lazarus Solomon cemetery and the Wall cemetery are next to each other so I am told. Is there any listings on Wilkinson cemeteries? Their land wound up in Twiggs Co when it was formed, so I am wondering if these would be Wilkinson or Twiggs Co Cemeteries? Have been told they are back and you would have to walk a good ways to reach them. I would be unable to walk very far myself, so if there is surveys of said cemeteries, I would like to know that please. Naomi

Hello everyone! This is Jeff Johnson and I'm the county coordinator for Wilkinson County, Georgia. I've seen that there is some confusion in the URL for reaching the GENWEB page for Wilkinson. I would like to assure you that there is no problem from people outside of AOL to reach the web page. AOL recently went to a banner system much like Geocities which adds the "hometown" stuff in the URL. I allowed them to do this because they gave me another 10 Megs of web space for free. Hi, I'm researching the family of Zadock SIMMONS, b. c1756 (possibly in NC). Zadock and his son John F. SIMMONS were granted a passport from Anson Co., NC into Wilkinson Co., GA on 4 May 1812. Both appear there in the 1820 federal census. Zadock left a will in Wilkinson Co. in 1821 (john is the only child he mentioned). He appears in tax lists in 1824, but that's the last I find of him. His will is quite interesting, and I will post a partial transcription of it in a separate post. John F. was born between 1790 and 1794 in Halifax Co., NC; his mother was Sarah CLAYBOURN COTTON. He apparently had 10 children, although I am not sure of his wife or wives. According to _History of Wilkinson County, Georgia_, by Victor Davidson, he was active in county/local affairs in the 1820s. Is anyone else researching this family? Any clues on who John married?
