    1. [GAWILKIN-L] IGI/ANCESTRAL FILE LOOK-UP
    2. TINA PEDDIE
    3. *HI ALL: OK, it looks like it's about time I start earning my keep here! IF - BIG *IF* - there is anyone on this List who absolutely does not have access to (cannot get to) an LDS FHC and hasn't done any searching for your lines on the FamilySearch CD's (IGI & Ancestral Files)....and would like me to look up a name or two --- go ahead and send them to me .... preferably via Email to me personally (not on the List or I can't guarantee it'll get done...) I work in the FHC every Thurs nite and will be glad to take a few look-ups with me, then will post hopefully the next day or so. IF you have access to a FHC yourself, pls. don't ask me to do it....this offer is just for any one who does not have access to, doesn't live near, or just can't get to a FHC. (The LDS FamilySearch program on the internet now is sometimes up, sometimes down...and we know it so far does not have ALL entries on it yet that are at the FHC's. You can try there first, but if that doesn't work for you, email me your requests.) Please send any request to me EMAIL, and pls. keep it VERY SIMPLE....not long stories...but basically, a NAME (preferably, your farthest back on a line), and any DATES such as b/d/m- plus spouse/children's names, if known. If I don't hear from anyone, great! That'll mean we're all doing our homework and have either done our FHC research, or are going to do it ourselves! (But I will be glad to help anyone who can't do it on their own.) Also, I'm sure everyone here IS VERY PROFESSIONAL about their genealogy, and probably as experienced (if not moreso) than me....but IF there is anyone who is STUCK somewhere in their research, and wants to run a problem/challenge past me, I will be glad to look at it and give my ideas/suggestions, etc. Happy Hunting!!! *TINA/CA* List Mgr.

    2. Beth Collins
    3. I am interested in comparing notes with anyone who might be interested in the James Branan line. Samuel Montgomery married Vashti Branan. We know by records that he was the son of William and Margaret Montgomery of Wilkinson County. It is known that he had the following siblings: 1. Robert - moved to Indiana Territory 2. William - moved to Alabama 3. Ellender - 4. Nancy - 5. Sally - married Thomas Bozeman and moved to Crawford Co. (now Taylor Co.) Georgia; later moved to Alabama There may have been a brother named James and a sister named Martha. I am interested in hearing from any descendant of the above. Nancy Mathis or Mathews, and Priscilla Mathis or Mathews spouses of John and James and daughters of one Thomas Mathews or Mathis. I understand that Mathews and Mathis were somtimes used interchangeably in the 1700's. Tom was a Rev. veteran and the three brothers of this inquiry were members of Gen. David Blackshears Georgia Militia. They helped erect Ft. Telfair in 1813. I understand that Ft. Telfair was located somewhere in Twiggs County. I also understand that county boundries were somtimes different in early years so I am operating on the hunch that maybe a neighboring county might have infromation on the above named. The above named were very active in the Baptist faith. Can you put me on the right path? Bob --part1_c75b800f.2438b5dd_boundary--

    1. [GAWILKIN-L] RESEARCH QUESTION/JRISH
    2. TINA PEDDIE
    3. *HI JEANNETTE: Saw your post abt your research question. You know abt looking at the 1900 or 1910 Census , don't you? I would suggest looking at Wlknsn Co. Census for the years she would have been a young girl.... and find her in a family on the Census! That wd give you names and ages and places of birth of her parents, and her sibs, etc.! You would prob. want to go to your local LDS FHC, and have them show you how to order the correct film that has the 1900 / 1910 Census for Wilkinson Co.GA. You might want to get the Soundex for those years first... so you'll know exactly what page they are on. Also, have you checked the LDS FamilySearch program at the local LDS FHC?? (It's also now online, but NOT completely current yet, and is busy alot of the time)..... I would suggest you check these names on the IGI and the ANCESTRAL FILE. You have alot of things you can do...esp. because the people you want to research are so "current", by genealogical standards..... Don't hesitate to ask if you have more questions! I'll be glad to help, advise, suggest, etc..... Best, *TINA/CA* List Mgr.
