Searching for other researchers who are looking for COOK and LEWIS families moving from Effingham to Wilkinson in the early 1800s. Given names are James Cook, Nicholas Lewis, Isaac Lewis, Thomas Lewis, Richard Lewis, etc. Thanks for any info. Margaret in SC Dataprof@aol.com
Hello, I am researching quite a few Middle Georgia Surnames. In Wilkinson County, are 1. the Wrights, of which I am descended from Charles Wright>James Wright m. Elizabeth Sutton>James G. Wright m. Josie Horn> James Oscar Wright m. Hazel Lucille Purvis>James O. Wright m. Janet Nobles. 2. the Suttons, which are listed above. Elizabeth Sutton is probably daughter of Absolom Sutton and sister to Moses G. Sutton. 3. the Horns, also listed above. 4. The Purvis', also listed above. I have a great deal of info on this family, which migrated to Georgia from Ruby, South Carolina. Also incorporated in this line is the Rivers Family In Twiggs County, I am researching some families. I am posting them because of the proximity of Twiggs and as I understand it, Wilkinson County once included Twiggs, Bleckly and Pulaski. 1. The Nobles: William Nobles m. Rebecca Caroline Davis> Jackson N. Nobles m. Georgia Ann Pipkin> Kinch S. Nobles m. Luna Allen> Kinch S. Nobles m. Lois Thompson> Janet Maria Nobles 2. The Thompsons: Tommie Thompson m. > Lois Thompson 3. The Davis' Family, The Pipkin Family, and the Allen Family Thanks for your time, take care, Suzie Minor

I would like to invite anyone searching Wilkinson, Bibb, Jones, Twiggs counties to look at my website. Please excuse any mistakes or immiturity of the site. This is my first one and the free web page does have some limitations. The free website is associated with ancestry.com. They require that a password be used by all entering their sites. I requested that a password not be required and was told that all the sites are set up that way and they can't change it. I will probably find another site eventually, but this one is good for a beginner like me. If you would like to view the webpage please email me and I will let you know how to get on the site. thanks pat Hope you enjoy it!
