well... I have been doing just that for the last 24 hours or so... just going through all my "loose" printouts and labeling them for my filing cabinet, and planning for my next research steps. I stayed up all Sunday night until 8:45 AM this morning , then slept until 3:00 PM , and began again with determination to finish the stack before I would even draw near to my inner sanctum down the hall. :o) I completed my task, and then approached my e-mail. And now, dawn is approaching...again (I lose all track of time doing my e-mail.) Today, I will file first, then read the first 25 messages, then begin responses by e-mail, and bookmark web sites until noon. since we do not have separate phone lines for Internet and fax, I will sign off and work off-line, for about two hours either feeding my genprogram, or using my word processor, preparing to share with those who do not have e-mail. I try to set goals like this and stick to it as close as possible. Those who can fax info to me are notified by correspondence as to when they can most successfully reach me by fax, and if I am expecting this kind of response, I try very hard to stick to the schedule I sent. We have just begun our reunion season, so I'm planning for them by printing family group sheets for each reunion, compiling info to share and ask for more. These reunion deadlines help me discipline myself to stay on task and get the job done. That does mean that my timing is rigid, but it helps organize and stay on track with great success. Does this help anyone? Other days are filled with visiting bookmarked sites and checking online forums for responses to my queries. ----- Original Message ----- From: TINA PEDDIE <tina@tcsn.net> To: <GAWILKIN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, April 25, 1999 11:30 PM Subject: [GAWILKIN-L] Research, research, research, WHAT NOW??? : *HI ALL: : Having done your genealogical research for years, or months (in my : case, abt 25 yrs), WHAT NOW????? Let me add to the confusion or possibly help someone. John Moore was living in Johnston County North Carolina in 1790 and 1800. He moved with his family to Jefferson County Georgia. One Edward Moore died in Jefferson County on 11-4-1805 where he left a will and named heirs but did not give the relationship of them. He named the heirs of John Moore. Rice price witnessed the will of Edward Moore. I believe Edward Moore was a brother of John Moore that was not married. John Moore died in Jefferson County on 9-2-1816 and left a will naming his wife Anne and his children. Mourning Moore b. 1779 married Rice Price in Johnston co, N.C. on 2-24-1795 This family lived in Washington, Emanuel and Jefferson Co's Cynthia Moore that married Benjamin Parker in Jefferson Co, GA on 10-20-1809. They moved to Twiggs co and he is recorded in the church minuets of Stone Creek as moving his membership from Gumlog in Emanuel Co, GA Olive Moore married Gabriel Parker the brother of Benjamin. They also moved to Twiggs Co. Gabriel and Benjamin Parker were in Johnston Co, N.C. and were the sons of Matthew Parker. Pheriby Moore Marr Charles W King they moved to Chattahoochee Co,GA William Moore Unknown. I will send more on this line later. Bo. Ps. In the 1820 census of Emanuel Co page #90 # 24 list Anne Moore over 45 with one male 16-26 and one female 16-26 could this be the widow of John of Jefferson Co. Looking for the parents and siblings of OBEDIAH EVANS b 1817 (twiggs/wilkinson co?) he had a son RUFUS EVANS b 1859 who married a Lucinda James. Rufus is my gggrandfather. I would like to know what happened to RUFUS? Also looking for a EVANS and VANN cemetery. Does anyone know the EXACT location of Marion Ga.? (not marion county) I know that Marion Ga. was quite a busy town in the early to mid 1800's. Rufus Evans and Lucinda James were married there. I have a copy of their marriage license. Was it located near Griswoldville? I have not been able to find it on the old Georgia maps. I located Griswoldville but no Marion Ga. nearby. My EVANS and VANN's lived in Griswoldville and were neighbors. Was just assuming that Marion might be nearyby if they went there to conduct business. I also know that my father WILLIAM ERNEST EVANS b 1912 d 1980's grew up in around Dry Branch Ga. I posted to all my query boards this morning......... have a nice day :) pat
