    3. *HI ALL: REPOSTING THIS FOR ALL THE NEW LIST MEMBERS WHO MAY NOT HAVE SEEN IT: Here are just a few Wilkinson Co. related websites you must check out. Bob Kingery, a distant cousin of mine in SC, has a GREAT website that includes MANY Wilkinson Co. families, including his and mine! His site is at: www.duesouth.net/~bkingery/ David Watkins has a good WATKINS website (my Watkins line is in Wilkinson and Wash.Co.GA, so I'm putting this website in here as it may contain some of our lines): www.inet.au/~davwat/wfhs/index.html And of course the great WILKINSON CO. website .... this is a must! http://hometown.aol.com/johnstien/Wilkinso/gawilkin.html (if it doesn't go thru with this long url, delete back to just show the "johnstien" at the end.) *PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU KNOW OF OTHER GOOD WILKINSON CO. 2. TINA PEDDIE
    3. HI JENNIFER: Have you looked at the 1870, 1880, 1900 Census for Jos.Henry Hooker??? If he was alive in 1880 and 1900, you can look him up on the SOUNDEX (thru your local FHC), and it will show you WHICH COUNTY HE RESIDED IN....then you can just backtrack from there, if you want to try and find him on 1870 Census. For Marriage records for unknown County in GA, I'd suggest looking at some of the cd's that have marr. rec for the southern states, many of which are kept at local FHC's. Good luck! 1. [GAWILKIN-L] John KENT of Bibb/ interpretation of mortality schedule?
    2. atippett
    3. In the 1850 Bibb County Mortality Schedule (online) the following appears Kent, John 30 M Eng Aug I interpret this to mean that John Kent, aged 30 and born in England, died in August 1850. Is this correct? Now, if I consider this with my earlier query, isn't it reasonable to theorize that this John, who must have been born in 1820 and would have been 10 in the 1830 census could have been one of the males, aged 5 - 10 or 10 - 15 (yes, the overlap bothered me too, but I'm going by what was on the site) who lived in the Twiggs households of Price KENT (aged 30 - 40 in 1830), Thomas KENT (aged 40 - 50 in 1830), or John KENT (aged 60 70 in 1830). Bibb and Twiggs counties adjoin in case someone doesn't have a map handy. Can anyone shed some light on these KENTS? Thanks! clarissa ? Thanks! clarissa

    2. atippett
    3. Folks, since part of Twiggs was once Wilkinson and since I cannot locate a Twiggs list, I'm asking here and I hope you'll each be tolerant. I'm also sending a copy to the Emanuel list because I've seen KENT there before. In looking at the 1830 Twiggs Co., GA census posted on the web, I've located the following three heads of households and the people in their respective households. Can anyone tell me what the relationship between the three men is? Can anyone supply any of the names? Where these three were from? etc. I found no KENT members in the Brown census listed at the Twiggs website for 1863. By the way, can anyone shed light on why a census was done in 1863 and given a Brown gentleman's name? I assume Mr. Brown collected the information, perhaps for tax purposes? Many thanks to anyone who can help. I will see if I can find anything that might be helpful to you. I assume you've looked these names up in the LDS IGI & ANCESTRAL FILES? And checked the appropriate Census Records for them?? Have you looked in either of the two good WILKINSON CO. BOOKS for their names?
