If any of you on the lists are Ga poetry buffs, scholars, etc.,please take note... I would like to include some pieces of relevant poetry in my family history book. At this time, I am searching for a poem about a soldier way from home, and his longing to return. It mentions the familiar land features like rapids, hills, etc., and the phrase "warrior's lament". My resources here are limited...could some one help? I am not allowed to use the phone for research... Jennifer

Hello all, I'm reposting with some new info in the hope of finding some cousins out there. I have sent this to several L lists as during this time frame counties were often changing and forming. Brown Family: Pearson Brown - 1830 Pulaski Co Census/1840 Lee Co Census- 1845-1850 Dooly Co Census 1860-1870 Worth Co., census. He married Elizabeth Unknown. Children: Sarah, Green, Thomas and Mary all born between 1842 &1849. Green M. Brown marr Tobitha Goff in Worth Co., GA in 1868. Thomas Family: Samuel Thomas - 1860 Madison Fl Census. Marr to Elender Unknown. Children: Levy, Mary, Christian - all born from 1845-1850. Mary Elizabeth Thomas marr Marion Washington Page in Madison FL in 1863. Page Family: Josiah Page - 1830s Early & worth Co. 1850 on Madison Fl. He marr Besheby Phelps and had the following children: Nancy, Marion Washington, Jackson, Josiah, Winnie, John, Solomon, Louisa, Mary M., Angelina, Ephraim and Lorina. It seems most of the family moved to the Polk/Pasco/Hernando areas by the 1870s. A few made it to the Sumter Co area by the late 1800s-early 1900s. Marion Washington Page married Mary Elizabeth Thomas and their children were: Enoch M., John G., Lenora, Mamie Angela, Tilden, A.J., Tom W., Laura, & George W. Solomon Page married Elizabeth Jane Davidson in Polk Co. and they had the following children: Leoca, Bulah, Ida and Julian. Ephraim E. Page married Martha C. Unknown and they had the following children: Jeremiah, Joanna C., and James B. Mary M. Page marriedJohnathan Watson in Polk Co on 6 Jul 1871. Ephraim E., Solomon, Jackson and Marion Washington Page all served with the CSA. If anyone thinks they may have ties to any of these families, please drop me a line. I have many more details to share. Thanks. Bill
*HI ALL: I'll be gone starting tomorrow a.m., for a week, for a much-needed VACATION TO BASS LAKE, CA (which is near Yosemite ....) --- Keep up the posting, and I hope to see lots of good posts when I return!<Grin> If you haven't already posted your SURNAMES of Wlknsn Co.,, pls. do so , so that all can see who you are working on and maybe help you or even connect with some of yours. I will repost all my WILKNSN Co surnames upon my return, as it's been a while since I've done so, and there are alot of new members here!! Keep up the good work! I'll be back soon! See you on AUG 14!! Best to all, *TINA/CA* List Mgr.
*HI ALL: Just to let everyone know I will be on vacation from Sat., AUG 7-14. With summer & all, things have kind of quieted down a bit anyway, so I'm sure all will be well. I will try to get things stirred up a bit more after I return and get my kids going in "school" again (I homeschool them, so I'm the teacher! 12 & 14 yr old.) I've made some great strides in my genealogy this past year, mostly due to great people on the internet like you, sharing and discussing -- let's keep it up, ok! My prayers & best wishes to those who have had some real bad (hot) or (wet) weather this summer --- we here in CA have had it pretty good..... hot yes, where I am anyway on the central coast (inland, but still only 45 min. from the Pacific Ocean), and dry, but still beautiful most of the time! Be talking with you again soon! (For the newly-formed FRANKLIN/PARKER list, please feel free to go ahead and start posting your lines and queries if you'd like...I can catch up upon my return; or you can wait till I come back....) Best to all, *TINA/CA* List Mgr.

Below is the family of James and Sarah Tommey Branan who married on June 28, 1795 in Warren County and they settled in Wilkinson County. I have more complete information on some lines for anyone who is interested. I would also like to hear from any descendants. I have one question: Vashti and her husband, Samuel Montgomery, moved to Crawford County (now Taylor) around 1833. There was a Pascal Branan who also bought land there. Does anyone know if this is the brother of Vashti? The family consisted of:: 1. Harris m. ? 2. Polly d. young 3. Adam m. Mary B. Wise 4. Winnifred m. Othniel McCook 5. Vashti m.
