HI KATHY: I would suggest the following for your brickwall..... Go to WHAT YOU KNOW abt those ancestors..... Willis was b. 1815, so he prob. shows up on 1850 Census, right? Of course, he would be marr. then, to Eliz.?? If so, look at that census and see WHERE HE WAS BORN, WHERE SHE WAS BORN. Then, if Wilkinson Co., go back a decade to next census.... Look at the 1840 Census, and see if you see a STAPLETON family in the same area in 1840, and chances are pretty good he is one of those children. It wont give names of kids though...that started with the 1850. But 1840 gives #'s of children/boys or girls, of different age groups. Also, see if 1850 Cato inlaws are living nearby. Look also for those inlaws on 1840.... if they are, then go back to 1830, check and see if Stapletons are still there, and Catos..... keep going back, and chances are if they are there, you may ahve your family.... But that's not ALL you should check of course. Lots of different resources .... i will post again here a list of good resources for Wilkinson Co. to check out .... Have you looked at the ANCESTRAL FILE & IGI from the LDS FHC (family history center)? You can also view it online by going to www.familysearch.org. There are many many resources....I will post some others in a minute.... best, TINA/CA List Mgr. Just a note: On this new onelist.com list (that anyone has, not just the Wynn one just created), there is a SHARED FILES area .... it's great! Anyone on the list can go there and UPLOAD files to SHARE with the rest of the folks on the List! You can upload OLD FAMILY PIX, NEW FAMILY PIX (if cousins want to see what new cousins look like), old documents, wills, deeds, anything you can scan and upload, that pertains to the particular List can be uploaded quite easily to the SHARED FILES area of the list. Just go to : http://onelist.com/community/WynnHinson and when you get there, just look for the SHARED FILES area and follow the simple directions. (They recently changed it all and it's easier now than before, but I havent seen the Shared files area since it was changed...but it shd be as easy or easier than before!) Another list I'm on has DOZENS of files uploaded to it for members to view! Also, if there is a picture or something uploaded there, you can also, I believe, DOWNLOAD IT and have for your own! There is also a place to describe briefly WHAT OR WHO IT IS, and WHO is placing it there.... Tina He who says 'it cannot be done' should not interrupt he who is doing it. - Chinese Proverb

OK, the new WynnHinson list at onelist.com is created and ready! Gervaise & All, all you need to do to subscribe to it is send an email to: WynnHinson-subscribe@onelist.com. You will be automatically subscribed. *REMEMBER, this list is ONLY for Wynn/Hinson & related families! This isn't to "ask" if you might be related (that's what this WILKINSON CO. , or Burke Co. list is for) -- but the WynnHinson list is for those who KNOW they are related to them, and it will bring all of us cousins together there to share info and get going on establishing parents for Wynn and Hinson! If anyone has other cousins on other lists who are from this line, please notify them of this new list (or forward this email to them). The list is unmoderated, meaning everyone will be subscribed when they join, and everyone can just post away to the list. Gervaise, I will go thru my Wynn stuff, and anything that I find that might be of interest, I will post to that list. It may be stuff you have, or gave me, or have seen, but once posted, you can Delete it if you've seen it, but it will then be there for the WynnHinson Archives, which anyone can go look at! Any questions???? (If anyone else is interested in creating a specific LIST for yourselves, onelist.com is VERY SIMPLE AND EASY and WONDERFUL! I manage abt 10 lists over there, plus this Wlknsn Co. list, plus another rootsweb list of LEMASTER! So, Gervaise, once subscribed, just send emails to the WynnHinson list at: WynnHinson@onelist.com and it will go to everyone on the list, which right now, is only me I guess! Thanks! TINA/CA List Mgr. ps Gervaise, we can see how it goes for a while, and changes can easily be made to the list if needed --- if we want to have it be STRICTLY direct line descendants of Wm. & Susan, or whatever.... HI GERVAISE & ALL: I'm with you 100% Do you want me to go create a WYNN List at onelist.com, that will be JUST FOR THIS LINE OF OUR WILLIAM WYNN/SUSAN HINSON family??? I can do it in a minute! That way, we can really hone in on this particular line and get somewhere, hopefully. You, Gervaise, definitely have more info on this Wynn family than I do, or anyone I know of! So we do need to have a clearinghouse just for this family line. I'll run over to onelist.com and create it, and will make you and me co-Moderators, if you'd like, that way, you or I can do the Moderator stuff....although there isn't really much to do once it gets started. Will send you notice of it, and everyone else here on WILKINSON. Thanks for the interest in this, and I'm glad i"m not the only one who REALLY DOES WANT TO PURSUE WILLIAM WYNN! As you know, I also descend from WM. WYNN b. 1790 Burke Co.GA & Susan HINSON. I have SUSPECTED (but no actual proof) that Susan was d/o Wm. HINSON and wife MARTHA...a Hinson family in Burke Co. around the right time period. Not sure if I saw it stated somewhere, will see if I can locate. Also, I have SUSPECTED (again no proof, but this is a good time to check it out further), that WM. WYNN b. 1790 COULD BE s/o WILLIAM WYNNe & ELIZABETH ECHOLS. They were also in Burke Co. same time frame, and I think someone believes he is their son...but I can't give proof of it, so we still have some work to do. Of course, our WM. could also, as you said, be descended from the WM. WYNN , Frances Read Wynn line..... I'll get a WYNN list going and will tell eveyrone how to JOIN--ONLY IF YOU ARE DESCENDED FROM THIS WILLIAM WYNN/SUSAN HINSON (or related) line please. Best, TINA/CA List Mgr.
