Tina and Jack, I don't have time before I leave for Egypt to post corrections, but one thing I would like to correct before I leave is this: ASHLEY WYNN couldn't have been a son of William Wynn and Susan Henson. I have two pages from his actual Bible and it says he was born 29 Jan 1804. Wm. Wynn was born 1790, so Wm. would have been only 14 years old! Plus, he and Susan didn't marry until 11 Aug 18ll [Southern Christian Advocate, V.2.]. Some have posted that Wm. married someone else before he married Susan Henson in 18ll...no proof that I have seen. If someone has it, PLEASE send it. None of William's children that I know about were born before his marriage 1811 to Susan Henson. Jack, can you please send at least this info to Leonard Wynn so that he can correct at least this one thing. I "believe" based on a lot of "stuff" that Ashley was a brother to William Wynn, Jr. (1790-1870) and sons of William Wynn, Sr. (1760-1770), who was in Wilkinson Co., GA in the 1820 Census. I have NO PROOF of Ashley and Wm. being brothers. At 06:51 PM 10/2/99 -0400, you wrote: >Tina; > >This must be your day, Leonard has given me permission to send you the Wynn >gedcom. Tina; This must be your day, Leonard has given me permission to send you the Wynn gedcom. I'm would prefer to sit on it for a couple of weeks until we can correct many small problems in your line. That would be better than me correcting mine and you correcting yours and not sure it's all done. Just talked to Gervaise and she will be out of town for a couple of weeks as you know. When she gets back I'd like to get her into a computer program with the same gedcom. She has already identified several mistakes. We both have a bunch of Wynn info and would like to make sure it's right. I would like to suggest something that may be anathema to you; hold off sending it off to LDS when you get it. I have had a bunch of experience with ancestral files that were wrong. I called a gentleman from Salt Lake some years ago to see if I could correct a file of a minorcan ancestor of mine with his name on it. I was blasted right off with every name in the book when I introduced myself. He finally calmed down and said his niece was Morman and submitted his files without his knowledge. He was MAD because she had changed some and added some others without his knowledge. Finally hung up on him. I was also involved in a search for a Thomas Co., GA Wynn (possibly a brother of your William named Bartley Wynn (John Bartlett Wynn). Bartley left a will naming "the children of Washington Wynn". We all assumed Washington was dead but alas, no. George Washington Wynn enlisted in CSA at Chattanooga, was captured at Vicksburg and taken to an IL prison. He didn't like it so agreed to serve in the Union Army if released. After the war he settled in IN, married twice (still had a wife and 3 daus in Thomasville) had other children. I am looking for a source for old obits, like newspapers or indexes, for the Wilkinson County area. The person I am looking for is a Daniel Leslie Sanders who died about 1862 in the county. My understanding is that he was shot and killed by the Sheriff at the time starting a feud between the Sanders and the Dykes. Thanks for any help! Bob Fisher

Oops, didn't notice before I typed the previous note to you that Daniel Sanders died in the 1860s; was thinking he was born in the 1860s. Sorry about that. Still interested tho because he may fit into the family. Thanks, Diane Thompson Dixon
Bob: I'm interested in anything you have on Daniel Leslie Sanders. My great grandmother was Elizabeth (Lizzie) Sanders who married Leroy Edward Thompson. Lizzie's mother's name was Laura Keen before she married a "Sanders". I have found several references to Lizzie and Laura but never a husband/father's name. The dates sound about right for being Laura's husband. The birthdate that I have for Lizzie is 1877. Diane Thompson Dixon
Hi List, David Roberts bought 60 acres of land on Walnut Branch in the 24th District of Wilkinson county on 27 Dec 1809 from Elijah Barker and his wife, Nancy Barker of Pulaski County, Ga. David Robarts is listed in 1820 census of Wilkinson County. Is 24th District same District that Walnut Creek Church and Cemetery is located? Can anyone tell me the name of a town in that District? I would greatly appreciate your help! Thank you. Barbara Crites
