Am researching Mary C. Whitaker, daugher of Richard Whitaker, that married Alphaus Beall..Is Alphonse a different spelling or person? She was listed as Mary C. Beall in the 1842 Will. There is a Mary C. Whitaker marrying a Alphonse Beall in 1849 in Wilkinson County. My Mary C. Beall was in Upson County and a widow by then. Help will be appreciated. I too believe that Richard, Thomas and Isaac Lewis were brothers. On your website you state that your Thomas B. Lewis is the same Thomas Lewis in Wilkinson county in 1820. My information states that Thomas B. Lewis from Screven county, Ga received a land lot in Early county(Decatur) in the 1820 lottery. Since the census and the lottery were both held in 1820, he would not have been in Wilkinson county in 1820. Thomas Lewis had been a resident of Wilkinson county for some years. He was a Wilkinson county coroner in 1816. Do you have further information that positively proves that Thomas B. Lewis is the Thomas Lewis in 1820 Wilkinson? Was his wife still living in 1850 Decatur county? There is also an indication that Thomas was still in Wilkinson county in 1823, but I have not been able to track him. I thought he may have gone to Alabama and am still working on this trace. Richard Lewis was born in South Carolina as verified by his youngest son. He received a Wilkinson county land lot in the 1805 lottery and he was living in Jefferson county at the time of the drawing. There was an Isaac and Thomas Lewis living in Jefferson county at the same time, so I am trying to prove that they were brothers. Isaac Lewis and his family moved on the Houston county, Ga and I believe he is buried in that county. I am still early in my research and will be glad to share information with anyone reseaching these Lewis lines.

Help please.... Richard Whitaker 1782 - 1844, of Wilkinson County married a second time. His will dated 1842 and probated in 1844 says his wife is Margaret Whitaker. I've seen where his second wife was Catherine "Katy" Thompson. I can't find a Marriage record on-line or in the Wilkinson County history book. Since his first wife Nancy Pace Whitaker died Jan 2 1837 the marriage would have taken place between that day and Sep 27, 1842 the date of the will. I've been told by a family member that his second wife was a nurse to his wife Nancy and he married her the day Nancy died. Also that the second wife's name was Margaret Catherine "Katy" Thompson. In the 1850 Census Baldwin County Margaret Whitaker, 52 Sarah B. Thompkins, 32 Mary Thompkins, 15, David Thompkins, 12 William Thompkins, 9 David Thompkins is in the 1860 census of Baldwin County in the Salem District. Can someone shed a light on this? I will be putting Richard Whitaker's will on my website soon. Narrow Escape. Page 3 - Col 02 Judge Rowe's dwelling narrowly escaped being burned Monday last. The roof took fire from a falling spark, and but for the fact that the spark fell on the lee side of the house, coupled with the good luck of being almost immediately discovered by Mr. W. W. Robinson, the house would have , in a few minutes, been reduced to ashes. Mr. Robinson, assisted by Mr. Wm. Lane, climbed to the fire with a bucket of water by the time the flames had covered a space of two feet square and readily extinguished it. >From The Dublin Post Issue: June 1, 1881 local news. Keith, I have Samuel Wheeler in one of my direct lines and found the name of Miles Bloodworth in some of his estate papers. Could you please send me what you have on Miles & Rebecca (and their parents) ? I believe Rebecca (Nunn) Wheeler Bloodworth was the mother of Samuel Wheeler. I had in my files that she had possibly married a Bloodworth later in life. I also have an indirect William Mackey connection. Hopie Mackey was the mother of Demarius who married John Wheeler, brother of my Samuel Wheeler. Could you share what you have on the Mackeys with me? Also, you mention Elizabeth Stevens, who married James Stevens. Do you have the parents of these two? I have a John Stevens (m. Lydia Banyan) in my direct line with a son named James. Who is the Rebecca Stevens you mention? I'm particularly interested in the Stevens lines. Thanks for any help you might be able to give. If these Stevens lines intersect, I have some information for you. Thanks, Keith Stevens.
