Diane - have noted your previous messages and couldn't help but respond to this. My g-g-granddad Jeremiah Coleman Dixon was married to Martha Green. He was killed as a deputy sheriff in Lowndes Co., GA around 1855. Martha later married a Richard Keen we believe in Hamilton Co., FL just below Lowndes Co. Martha and Jeremiah both came from Wilkinson Co and I'm now wondering if Richard also came from Wilkinson Co. Think I recall that your husband wasn't a descendant of the Wilkinson Co. Dixon's and I haven't researched the Keen's since Richard isn't in my direct line. But finding out that he was also originally from Wilkinson Co. would provide some insight as to how Martha met and married Richard. He died not long after their marriage from CW wounds near Richmond, VA. They had a son in 1859 before he joined the Confederates and all 3 (I think Richard is) are buried at Hickory Grove Cemetery near Madison Co., FL. Well, probably a bit more than you had in mind but would be interested if you note any connections. --pby3.pepboys.com/h2ADj9cN009010 Content-type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Absolutely! My grandmother was Mary Louise (Lou) Keen - b. Toomsboro, GA 1898. Charles was her father. I have been trying to find out 1) when/where he died and where he is buried. I have more info on Willis Keen than info on Charles Keen. I do have a picture of him and his wife taken around 1910? Would be happy to share copy with you. His widow are listed with the following children on the 1870 Texas census record. children: Council b. 1861, Mary b. 1862, Benjamin b. 1863, Mitchel b. 1864, and William T. jr born 1867 shortly after William's death. Hi Emma, According to the book "The Fordhams and Related Families" by Jane W. Fordham, Jenette Fordham Kelley & Yvonne Fordham Burnsed............. Page 44 3-2. FRANCIS N. FORDHAM, JR. born in 1846 was the second son of Francis N. Fordham and his wife Nancy McGinnis [According to my research, he was married to Sarah Deese that early. He & Nancy McGinnis married 1868.] He was married first the SARAH ANN ADAMS, a daughter of William Green Adams, Sr. and second to Sara Tarpley Keniston. he died in Wildinson County and buried at Big Sandy Church. We have no further record of this family, but that he left several children, of of which was Eveline Fordham who married J.W. Garntoe". I checked my database for Francis M. and I only had the marriage to Sarah Ann Adams. Hope this helps. Jeanie Smith Zadach Savannah, GA

ADAMS. I cannot find this family in 1870 census (Laurens or Wilkinson) [The only Sarah Adams I can find in 1860 marries an unknown Fordham, has 2 children, he died and she is a widow in 1880 (next to her mother Gracey); she then married William Franklin Fordham in 1881 and had other children.] There is a "Sarah N. L. Adams" somewhere in 1860. 1880 Wilkinson has Francis M. listed as widow (no children shown) Does anyone have them in 1870 census? Does anyone have a cemetery listing for her before 1880? Francis M married again in 1883 in Wilkinson. Thanks. Emma Lou Weldon Gainesville, FL [email protected]
