I remember seeing a Pruitt that married a Mercer in Newton County back in the early 1800s.I think it was around 1823 or so.I found that on the marriages in Ga. page.I'm not sure where Wilkinson Co. is but I went to high school in Morgan Co. and we was to play Washington Wilks in basketball.I think it is down below Green county.I will be on the look-out for the info that you are looking for...
