Hello Joe, I'm glad to hear from you. I was trying to find out more about Zachariah SLATON who married Sally ISBELL and according to some conjectures, they had a son named Augustus Marion SLATON. He was my g-g-grandfather. I can't trace this family any further back than (possibly) Sumter Co, AL. The suggestion is that Zachariah SLATON was in Sumter Co, AL at about the time Augustus Marion was there. The family moved to Kemper Co, MS and there is only one record showing he was there. Augustus is buried in MS and his descendants have been there all through the years. They only left during WW II. I would love to see what you have on the SLATON Family and to see if there is really a connection.
