I believe I have some distant relatives from Halifax, VA. amuel Bentley, b. 7/12/1772, died 1839 in Forsythe, GA, married a Nancy Legrand on 9/25/1795 in Halifax. Also a John William Bentley b. 5/12/1807 in GA. My branch of the Bentley family then settled for a while in South Carolina and then on to Yazoo, Mississippi where they worked a small plantation.
