Slaughter Journal The main goal of the EGGS quarterly is to abstract "never before published" records, or various other documents and information of genealogical content, and place in the quarterly for the 28 counties the Society serves: Banks, Barrow, Butts, Clarke, Columbia, Elbert, Franklin, Glascock, Greene, Gwinnett, Hancock, Hart, Jackson, Jasper, Lincoln, Madison, McDuffie, Morgan, Newton, Oconee, Oglethorpe, Putnam, Rockdale, Stephens, Taliaferro, Walton, Warren and Wilkes. Just a note on the William Allen Slaughter Journal - the Journal was written to outline the family history and descendants of this branch of the Slaughters. The line, as recalled by W. A. Slaughter (1804-1886), stems from John Slaughter (1733-1798) who m. Frances Brothers. Many of the Slaughter descendants in Georgia are descended from this line. As a continuation, in the November issue, some of the genealogical lines will be put in order and verified when possible. This small journal brings a wealth of information about a family with a proud heritage. If interested, additional information and applications forms to join the society can be found on the EGGS web site at: www.rootsweb.com/~gaeggs Of course, you're most welcome to add your query to the web page.
