    3. I recently came across an item in a book about Wilkes County that indicated that a Mr. George C. Smith, who formerly resided in Lexington, had a little book containing info on Beth-Salem Church from 1785 to 1797. It also stated that he had a record of baptisms and that both of these relics were sent to the Jamestown Centennial Exposition. Does anyone know where these records might be today? I am very interested since my 5 great grandfather, James Simpson, was a member of this congregation at that time.
