I have a ancestor named George W. Lackey, b. abt. 1788, GA. He was in Pope County, Illinois area in the early 1800's. I discovered not long ago that his wife Elizabeth b. abt. 1782, NC was most likely married to a man named Rose prior to marrying my G.W. Lackey. ( At least a Granddaughter of my G.W. Lackey mentioned in a article that her Mother had a half-brother named Tommie Rose) (Thomas Rose was b. in Pope Co., Inninois and came to Ark. and on to Texas with my G.W. Lackey) I came across information that the Rose family in the Pope Co., Illinois area was from the Franklin-Elbert-Wilkes Country of Georgia. Hoping to discover my Lackey in GA by following the Rose family.
