    1. GRANT, KINMAN, LETT ca 1790s-1810s Please help
    2. Anyone researching any of these lines in Wilkes/Greene counties area? The Kinman and Lett families seeme to have intermarried and interacted from GA through moves to TN, KY and IN (an dpossibly further). My main interest is LETT, but I would love to compare notes with folks researching GRANT and KINMAN. I still have a mystery to solve: Men named KINMAN and GRANT deeded a whole household's worth of good to "the children of Daniel Lett" in 1801 in Wilkes co GA---and we don't know why... And I mean a lot of goods---beds and bedding, spinning wheels, flax and cotton, tools and saddles, dishes and pans and eating utensils, and so on and so forth. The wording is very specific, and must mean something...the men deeded it to the children with no cost to the children "out of the pity and compassion we feel for the family of Daniel Lett"---the deed does not mention a mother of the children, and the deed does not say that Daniel was deceased... The children were all under 10, and next show up in the Harrison/Pendleton/Owen co area of Kentucky about 1813 or so, when they begin to marry and pay taxes. There must be other records in Wilkes or Greene county that will help us solve this mystery, but none of us can travel there to check for the next year or so. We would really appreciate having ANY scraps of information on this matter than anyone can dig up. PLEASE keep these names in mind when doing your own research, and forward even tiny tidbits of info that mention GRANT< KINMAN< LETT in Gerogia to me. Thanks so much! Sherri
