    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Queries Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Jd.2ADI/516.592.680.686.683.1.2.1 Message Board Post: No, Lewis Lanier Davis is not your Lewis Davis. He died 1832 at age 40 and did not have a son named Lewis per my records. Lewis Lanier Davis was named for his mother's brother Lewis Lanier who was in the boat with George Washington when he crossed the Delaware. I do not know that any of Agnes Lanier's sister married a Davis. If there is a connection to William Davis/Agnes Lanier, it could be via one of their sons who named a son Lewis for his uncle. I do not have names of any grandchildren except those of Lewis Lanier Davis. The other sons of William/Agnes: Edward b abt 1776; William Thomas b abt 1772, d 1823 Jones Co. GA; James b 1775; Charles b abt 1784; Joshua b 1786, d 1847 Heard Co. GA; Samuel b abt 1790; Micajah b abt 1789 and Baxter b abt 1791. Unfortunately, this indicates a lot of possibilities. Although I indicated above no other grandchildren of William/Agnes, I do have the children of Joshua Davis. One was Lewis Franklin Davis who married Elizabeth Ann Pi! ttman in 1841. They lived in Heard Co. GA and he died in an accident 1857.
