There was a Soloman Palmer in Wilkes Co., GA who was born in "E. Jarsey" on 18 February 1763. He married "Sary" (Sarah) Wever of Virginia on 29 Nov.1784. (Soloman's father, Soloman Palmer , Sr. died in 1791 and is buried in Dawson Co., GA.) Soloman, Jr. and Sary had John b 1786, Simeon b 1789, Aaron b 1791 (all in GA), then Jane b 1793, Mary b 1795, Silas b 1797, Sarah b 1800, Benjamin b 1802 and Soloman III b 1807 (all in South Carolina). This is according to a bible of Aaron. Somewhere along the way their name became Palmour for some although I understand John continued as Palmer. At some point in time (in the 1760's) Soloman, Sr. had a small piece of land near Elizabethtown (Elizabeth) in eastern NJ. Not certain of his wife's name (this is a debatable subject) but they had at least 3 sons and a daughter. It seems Soloman,Sr and his 2 eldest sons, John & Soloman, Jr joined with Elijah Clarke but I don't know in which area they served, there is mention of Kettle Creek but whether the Palmers were there I'm not certain. They did receive land grants for their service. They were apparently in Wilkes Co., GA at this time. Later moving to Pendleton Dist.,SC. I hope this will be of some help. Fact or fiction, whose to say. Incidentally, my line comes from Silas above.
