Bill, I saw your note that you put on the Wilkes County query board - it gets sent to the Wilkes Co. mail list. (See below in case you're not familiar with it). I presume that your interest means you are a descendant of Michael Lawson Dent, so on that presumption (forgive me if I'm wrong) I'd like to say "Hi, double-cousin." Michael Lawson Dent was (if memory serves) a 3rd cousin of my 3ggf John Dyson (John's mother was Esther Dent of Trinity Parish, Charles Co. MD). John Dyson and Michael Dent married sisters - Ann and Sally Heard, daughters of John Heard who d. Wilkes Co. about Jul 1803 (and unk. wife some think was Mary, Mary Ann, or Margaret Stuart). I don't have any answers on your question about migration - don't really follow the Dents in GA, but I have a contact who might have some info - Leon Wilde: [email protected], who has a web site on the Dents that primarily covers Charles County MD, but follows a few, as I recall, and I think Michael Lawson Dent is one of them.
