Theophilus Hill was born 1788 in Wilkes County, Georgia, and died September 4, 1852 in Deberry, Texas. He married Rebekah Gibson January 28, 1807 in Warren County, Georgia, daughter of Henry Beverly Gibson born 1760 in Wilkes County, Georgia, and died 1829 in Wilkes County, Georgia. Her mother was Sarah Alexander Gilbert born unknown, died 1832 in Washington, Wilkes, Georgia. She married Henry Beverly Gibson in 1785. Their daughter Rebekah Gibson was born 1790 in Wilkes County, Georgia and died 1851 in Deberry, Texas. Theophilus Hill and Rebekah Gibson had the following children: (1) Sarah Hill, b. Abt. 1807; m. Daniel Jefferson (Jeff) Lyon. (2) Susan Hill, b. Abt. 1810; m. William P. Lee (3) Mercer Jesse Hill, b. Abt. 1814. (4) Henry Hill, b. Abt. 1816. (5) Thomas Middleton Hill, b. Sept 1825, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, d. 14 Sept 1883, Bosque County, Texas. (6) W. T. Crofford Hill, b. 1828, Alabama. (7) Collin Finell Hill, b. 26 Oct 1829, Alabama; d. Abt. 1903. (8) Alvey Wood Hill, b. 1832, Alabama. I was told that Theophilus Hill was in the book called " The Hills of Wilkes County, Georgia and Allied Families by Lodowick Johnson Hill".
