Williams, orphaned grandson of Drury Williams, after Drury's death. Jan. 27, 1807 - Jonathan was appointed guardian for James and Henry Josey, orphans of Henry Josey, deceased. Mar. 7, 1810 - Zachariah Williams now appointed guardian for William Marshall Williams, instead of Jonathan Webster, who "is gone to reside out of state." His remains as well as those of the other family was originally buries on their land in Lincoln County Georgia between Lincolnton and Elberton, Georgia. Because of rising waters caused by Strom Thurman Reservoir, the bodies were relocated to Elijah Clarke State Park between Lincollnton, GA and MCCormick, SC

He signed up in the 8th Mo. infantry and later is found in Loves Calv. He was captured at Fairplay Mo. 10/30/1864 and spent the rest of the war as a POW first at Rock Island Ill and then in Point Lookout Md. He was released in prisoner exchange 5/18/1865. I have info he came from Georgia as a chilf to Arkansas but can't find the link. I'm also looking for links between him and Gen. Elijah Clark. Any help would be appreciated.
