    1. Aycock family
    2. I am planning to drive through Wilkes County (sorry to say, I won't have very much time) on Saturday, May 5. I am a descendant of Richard Aycock through his son, Henry Aycock, who married Mildred Malinda Stovall in Wilkes County. Around 1820 they had moved to Morgan County, Alabama, where I still live. Another descendant a couple of years ago did find the location of Richard Aycock's home. Unfortunately my computer crashed and I can't find her e-mail or snail mail address. Sally, if you are on-line, please e-mail. If anyone else knows the location of the Aycock home, p-l-e-a-s-e e-mail me or post to this forum immediately as we are leaving soon. I am also interested int he Battle of Kettle Creek location. Sherry Lowery

    3. Posted on: Wilkes Co. Ga Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ga/Wilkes/10770 Surname: ------------------------- Yes, that IS the guy. I checked my database and saw that Jonathan had another marriage to a Williams. I missed that when I reviewed your data the first time. Do you know anything of his parents? I have them as stated in my previous message, but would like a first name for his mother. I also have 6 siblings if you want that. Jack

    3. Posted on: Wilkes Co. Ga Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ga/Wilkes/10769 Surname: Webster, Williams, Josey ------------------------- Jack, I think we ARE talking about the same Jonathan Webster! Here are my notes for him. I believe him to have married Polly Williams first, then your Sally Josey: 17 Feb 1792 - Jonathan married Polly Williams in Wilkes Co. Mar. 1806 - Jonathan appt. guardian of William Williams, nephew of wife Polly. Jan. 1807 - Jonathan appt. guardian of Kitty and Rowena Josey, orphans of Henry Josey. Mar. 1810- Zachariah Williams appt. guardian of William Williams, as Jonathan Webster has "gone to reside out of state". This would match up with the info you gave, if Sally Josey is mother of/related to Kitty and Rowena Josey! My Jonathan DID leave Georgia, and DID have connection to Josey's. My guess is that Polly Williams died, Jonathan remarried Sally Josey, and became guardian of her children. What do you think?

    3. Posted on: Wilkes Co. Ga Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ga/Wilkes/10768 Surname: ------------------------- I don't think we're talking about the same Jonathans here. The information that I have is that my Jonathan was born November 17, 1767 in Wilkes Co., and died April 25, 1845 in Maury Co., TN. He reportedly married April 09, 1806 Sarah "Sally" Jossey in Wilkes. His father was another Jonathan Webster born November 11, 1740 Bristol Parish, England who married a Johnson, first name unknown, of Wilkes Co. It appears the elder Jonathan, son of yet another Jonathan b. c1714 Bristol Parish, immigrated to Wilkes Co. and married the Johnson woman there. My line is descended from the brother of the youngest Jonathan cited here, Abner, b. December 25, 1761 in Wilkes Co., GA. Jack Buster
