SC to Wilkes County, Ga. about 1820/30 with his wife, Elizabeth Williams, whom he married 29 Nov. 1804 according to Persons Co., NC marriage records. He was the son of James Boswell and grandson of John Boswell & Ann Ransom. John Sr. was my gggg-grandfather. Please help me if you have data on him. I would appreciate it so very much.

Benjamin Taliaferro. Taliaferro was born in Amherst County, Va. and served in the Va. Continental line during the Revolution. He also briefly served in Georgia during the Siege of Savannah in 1779. Taliaferro and his family moved to Wilkes County in 1784. He served as a county magistrate, state representative, state senator, state superior judge, and Congressman, elected in 1798. Taliaferro was one of the few state legislators to oppose the Yazoo sale in 1789 and 1795. He died in 1821.

Benjamin Taliaferro and his family. Col. Taliaferro served in the 2nd and 6th Regiments of the Virginia Continental line and briefly served in Georgia in 1779. He and his family migrated to Wilkes County in 1784. Col. Taliaferro served as a magistrate in Wilkes, as a state representative, state senator, a state superior judge and as a Congressman, elected in 1798. He died in 1821.
