    1. Thomas V. LOWE/b abt1805
    2. Watson
    3. Does anyone know anything about the LOWE family living in Wilkes Co in the early 1800's? My 3g-grandmother Antoinette LOWE b 1824 married Thomas Anderson HEARD. I have not been able to connect her to the right LOWE parents. On the 1850 census there is a Thomas V. LOWE b abt 1805 living in the Smith's home. I have no idea who he is but Antoinette named one of her children Thomas Vincent HEARD. If anybody has the 1840 or 30 census would you please look just to see if he is listed as a household head or if any LOWES are there at all? I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you , Debby Watson

    3. I recently came across an item in a book about Wilkes County that indicated that a Mr. George C. Smith, who formerly resided in Lexington, had a little book containing info on Beth-Salem Church from 1785 to 1797. It also stated that he had a record of baptisms and that both of these relics were sent to the Jamestown Centennial Exposition. Does anyone know where these records might be today? I am very interested since my 5 great grandfather, James Simpson, was a member of this congregation at that time. I have a ancestor named George W. Lackey, b. abt. 1788, GA. He was in Pope County, Illinois area in the early 1800's. I discovered not long ago that his wife Elizabeth b. abt. 1782, NC was most likely married to a man named Rose prior to marrying my G.W. Lackey. ( At least a Granddaughter of my G.W. Lackey mentioned in a article that her Mother had a half-brother named Tommie Rose) (Thomas Rose was b. in Pope Co., Inninois and came to Ark. and on to Texas with my G.W. Lackey) I came across information that the Rose family in the Pope Co., Illinois area was from the Franklin-Elbert-Wilkes Country of Georgia. Hoping to discover my Lackey in GA by following the Rose family.
