Jane Dawson married Cornelius Sale 20 Oct 1768 in Amherst Co., VA. She is the daughter of Joseph Dawson and Judith Dudley. I would be interested in learning more about Jane.
Jane Dawson belongs to the family of Joseph Dawson and Judith Dudley of Amherst Co., VA. Robert may be her uncle. I am currently working on this family and have developed a temporary site at: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~adgedge/Research/Dawson/DAWSON%20JOSEPH.htm I would like to know what information you have. Sincerely, Alice Gedge
Dear List members, I was wondering if someone could do a Marriage Record Lookup for me in the Courthouse. I'm looking for the marriage of: Henry Shelton Oliver to Nancy Farris Wimbish An old bible record says they were married on "Nov, 1819" and a couple family group sheets I've found says they were married in Elbert or Wilkes Co. I need to verify this and obtain a copy of the License or Marriage record for my documentation. Any help on this lookup would be greatly appreciated. Yours truly, Robert C. Johnston, Jr. 139 Eagle Creek Drive Wetumpka, AL 36092 USA [email protected]
I found a new lead but have to find a way to follow it. From a folder of people at the Doylestown Library in Bucks County where he states he was born in his pension request, I saw there were 4 or 5 people who had been trying for at least 20 years to track his parents(Philip and Henry) and where the name originated. When I have followed the information out I will let you know. My daughter and grandson are coming home tomorrow and will be here til the end of the month. Everything stops when this occurs as I do not get to see them very often. I find tracing those who have died is more rewarding than my living children sometimes. I have 4. 3 in Minnesota and 1 in New Mexico. So for know, Goodbye
Hello Frances I am trying to find the parents of my gggrandmother Mary who married Micajah Wall by 1792 and was living in Greene Co. GA. I think that Mary's maiden name may have been Young. She named on of her sons John and another Young, I think this may have been after John Young (may have been her brother) who traveled with her and her family from Greene Co. GA into the Ms Territory in 1800. Around 1770 there was a Peter Wall living next to Arthur Wall in St. George's Parish. At Mary's death her obit states she was born in Wilkes Co. in 1774. I know I am pulling at straws but I have no information on Mary before she marries Micajah Wall. Any information that you can give me to help prove or disapprove that she was a Young will be appreciated. Thanks, Priscilla Scott <Donna, there is some evidence that the Gibson family was associated with the George Young, Jr., of Wilkes and Oglethorpe Counties. George was the guardian of some Gibson children but I do not know if they were any that you listed. Perhaps this may help you in some way. One of our kin was named Felix GIBSON Hawkins. He was connected with my Young and Lee families. Best regards, Frances Ann Dornbusch>

Hello again Joe, I goofed with my last post. Sally ISBELL was the wife of Daniel SLATON who was the father of Zachariah SLATON. Some say that Augustus Marion SLATON was Zachariah's son and others say they were brothers. What a mess! Please help!
Hello Joe, I'm glad to hear from you. I was trying to find out more about Zachariah SLATON who married Sally ISBELL and according to some conjectures, they had a son named Augustus Marion SLATON. He was my g-g-grandfather. I can't trace this family any further back than (possibly) Sumter Co, AL. The suggestion is that Zachariah SLATON was in Sumter Co, AL at about the time Augustus Marion was there. The family moved to Kemper Co, MS and there is only one record showing he was there. Augustus is buried in MS and his descendants have been there all through the years. They only left during WW II. I would love to see what you have on the SLATON Family and to see if there is really a connection. If you have any suggestions as to where I can check further, I will appreciate it I can't tell you anything about the ISBELL family. I will look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, June S. Midkiff
My grandfather's middle name was Isbell {James Isbell Slaten}. We are from Monroe County, Tennessee via South Carolina. I have noticed a number of Isbell familiies in the tri-county area of Loudon, Monroe, and McMinn counties, Tennessee. Then on this forum is listed one Slaton Isbell. I'm wondering what the relationship is, if any. I have done about 10 years research on the Slaton/Slaten families and have quite a lot of information on them. Will be glad to share information. Thanks. Joe J. Slaten
drop me a line and I'll send you the whole Gedcom.
I have Ephriam as the son of Edward and Abigal James. Abigal was Edward's 2nd wife. He had brothers Mose, Woody, Benedict. Check out "Early Records of Georgia-Wilkes County". This is a great source for Wilkes Co. I don't know if the time line fits your Ephriam. zyours could have been a Jr.
