Visitation: February 06, 2002 Service: February 07, 2002 Cemetery: Westview Cemetery Mrs. Ida Estelle Thrift Dyer, 95, died Tuesday night (Feb. 5, 2002) at her residence in Hoboken after an extended illness. She is a native of Manor, but she has resided in Hoboken since 1994. She was a homemaker and a member of the Garlington St. Church of God of Prophecy. She is the daughter of the late John Smith and Amanda Young Smith. She is the wife of the late Marvin H. Thrift and Robert Dyer. She is survived by her two daughters, Edna Lucille Filippone (husband Nick) of Newnan, and Dorothy Wynell Sowell of Hoboken; two granddaughters, Deann Joy of Atlanta and Angela Wynette Elliott of Smryna; two grandsons, Marvin Louis Sowell and Jerry L. Sowell both of Hoboken; four great grandchildren, Michael and Mark Seymour, Jessie and Cody Elliott; one great great grandson, Alex Seymour of Bethel, Alaska; two sisters, Jewel Davis of Blackshear and Doris Lastinger of Jesup; a brother, J. L. Smith of St. Mary's; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday (Feb. 7, 2002) at Music Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Friday (Feb. 8, 2002) at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta. The family will receive friends 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday night at the funeral home.
