Hello list: I haven't paid my membership dues for the OHGS. My question is this: I subscribed yesterday and only received two issues of the magazine. I understand Linda has been sick but "we" were promised that we would get the magazines -- soon. Could anyone update me on the status of the quarterly magazine and when I might expect to receive what I paid for a year ago? I don't want to sound "whiny" but I am giving serious thought to renewing my subscription. Teresa Currie Blevins
Teresa and All, I am not fussing at you, you are much appreciated around here, but this does present a good opportunity to explain the situation. Many of us have paid for various items. However, we won't discuss that on the list. This list is a USGenWeb project. As such, it is not open to advertising and selling. Local Genealogy societies of course are an important part of our genealogy research. I am a member of several myself. The business part of that needs to be kept separate from the list. There is nothing wrong with announcing special items being released from time to time, even books being made available for purchase, but the Society business must not be conducted here in future.
