I just want to clarify my role with Ware County! First of all our GAGenWeb is set up by regions...and each one has a Regional Coordinator to work closely with the County Coordinator (the one that does the County page) The Regional Coordinator for Ware used to be Tim Stowell. Just a week ago, a new one was appointed Richard Pettys. As I mentioned yesterday, the sister page is GAGenWeb Archives. I am the State File Manager for GAGenWeb....and do the uploading for Ware County as well as many other counties within Georgia. Another point of clarification: Rootsweb is the business ISP that allowed the volunteer organization of USGenWeb to be on-line (both the County and the Archives) for free. USGenWeb has it's own advisory board....and every state has it's name... GAGenWeb or TXGenWeb, etc. Rootsweb is now a part of Ancestry.com. They are a business....but they are committed to the USGenWeb and providing us free space for our work. If at any time there was a disagreement about this, USGenWeb would move to another server. We, as volunteers, are totally committed to FREE sharing of information. NONE of the material you donate will ever be sold. I've probably told you more than you need to know....but just wanted to be clear that I am a VOLUNTEER for USGenWeb.... I have no affiliation with the business of Ancestry/Rootsweb. If you have any concerns or questions....let me know privately...

As the duties of being the State Coordinator for Georgia and the Regional Coordinator for the region which included Ware County have become more than I can handle, I offered the GAGenWeb volunteers the opportunity to be the Regional Coordinator for this area. Richard Pettys who hosts Gilmer County took up that offer. Previous to that it was my role to assist coordinators and/or temporarily host county sites until a new host could be found. I want to take this opportunity to thank Scott Warren for doing the maintenance on the Ware County pages for the last couple of years. If I can be of service to you in your research elsewhere in Georgia and more particularly in Chatham or Coweta counties, please don't hesitate to ask.
