Christopher: Thank you for verifying Camp Branch. I knew the name sounded so familiar. I remember that my sisters and I participated in a Christmas program there as well. When I went to get baptised, I was scared to death that a snake would swim up my dress or an aligator would come and bite me. Isn't it funny the little things that a person remembers? Thanks again for answering my question. I went to Booth cemetery back in May of last year as well as Suwannee Chapel. Have relatives in both cemeteries. Teresa Currie Blevins
Teresa and All, I enjoyed your Baptism memory. I was Baptized here in my home county of North Florida in Rocky Creek at a place called "The Rise". The creek like some of our rivers travel underground for a few miles, then pop up again in sinks etc. It was in the month of March on the 4th, in 1973...COLD, so I didn't have to worry about gators & snakes, thank goodness. Does anyone know how to go about obtaining Baptismal records? Is it even possible? I know the old ones back in the 1700s and 1800s were recorded. I know we would as always want to protect the living and not post information about them that some wicked one might get ahold of. Maybe this would fall under the Church Minutes and History? If so, it would be so good if we could get some old Chuch Minutes from the Ware County Churches. Hmmmmm We have so many possibilites of future resources, gang. Hope we see some come to light. Don't forget, I am open to your ideas. I am a total beginner at this, so need all the help I can get. I know some people have transcribed old church minutes. Are these stored somewhere on microfilm? How do we order them if so? Sharon >When I went to get baptised, I was scared to death that a snake would swim up my dress or an aligator would come and bite me.
