(2) Mrs. Stella Sweat, Peagler, a great-grand-daughter, was the first descendant of Nathan Sweat to be accepted by the Daughters of the American Revolution, on his record or service as a Revolutionary Soldier. She was admitted into the D.A.R., Oct. 13, 1955. D.A.R. Nat. No. 437329. She is a member of the John Floyd Chapter. SWEAT, NATHAN (p. 312): (1) Mrs. Charity Sweat, wife of Nathan, died in March, 1870, according to the mortuary schedule, 1870 Census of Ware County. (2) Mr. Sweat served as a private in the Indian War under Capt. James A. Sweat in his company of Ware County militia, Aug. 19, to Nov. 18, 1840, and Nov. 6 to Dec. 3, 1841. (3) There was another son not listed through oversight, viz., John J. Sweat, born 1829. He was married Dec. 25, 1851, to Elizabeth, daughter of Maj. Richard Bourn (Vol.1).
