Sue, Here is the obituary on Annie Ruth Johns. Sheila Annie Ruth Johns 2/11/1946-4/1/2006 Annie Ruth Johns, 60 of Bachlott Community died Saturday morning (April 1, 2006) at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was born in Bachlott, Brantley County and her parents were George M. and Flora Leoa Rowell Johns. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Layton Johns. She taught school in Charlton County, and was head basketball coach and a tennis coach for 6 years. She took over her fathers logging company and was the owner of Johns Timber Company for 27 years. She was best known as the Georgia Logging Queen and loved hunting in her spare time. She attended Grace Chapel Baptist Church, Homeland, GA. She is survived by her 2 sisters, Margie Crews and Catherine Middleton of Bachlott ; 1 sister-in-law, Maria Johns (the late, Layton ) of Blackshear; 6 nieces and nephews, Marty Crews, Beth J. Squires, Layton A Johns, II, Jason Middleton, Lara Johns and Jamin Middleton; several great nieces and nephews; 2 aunts, Betty Johns of Jacksonville, FL and Josephine Pascal of Smithville, TN and best friends, Cordell Wainright of Riverside, Dawn Tarner of Bachlott, and John and Annette Davis of Hickox;. Visitation will be Monday night at 7:00 pm at her residence on Jake Johns Rd. in the Bachlott Community. Funeral services will be Tuesday (April 4, 2006) at 11:00 a.m. at her residence with Rev. Reggie Herrin officiating. Burial will follow in the Bachlott Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Stacy Walker, Pine Tree Walker, Bobby Crews, Harold Williams, Don Drury, Mark Drury, and Casey Causey. Honorary pallbearers are Marty Crews, Lonnie Joe Davis, Layton Johns II, Jamin Middleton, Barry Rowell, Bryan Rowell, John Davis II, Carl Drury, Bruce Flansburg, Coochie Miller, Billy Reed, Barry Wainright, Cordell Wainright, and Mike Walker.
