Visitation: March 29, 2002 Service: March 30, 2002 Cemetery: Oakland Cemetery Mrs. Elizabeth Dean Henderson died Thursday (March 28, 2002) in Satilla Regional Medical Center following a short illness. She was a native of Pierce County but had resided most of her life in Waycross. She was married to the late Berrien Wyndell Henderson and was daughter of the late Fred Lee Dean and Maggie Blount Dean. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Gail Elizabeth Henderson who was the 1969 Charity Ball Queen of the Waycross YMCA; a sister, Evelyn Johnson; two brothers, Fred Earl Dean and Glenn L. Dean; and a special friend, Linda Sellers. Mrs. Henderson was a retired telephone operator with Southern Bell. She was a member of Brooks United Methodist Church, former sunday school teacher and had been a member of the Busy Bees. She was a member of the Cherokee Council Southeast Georgia Telephone Pioneers. She was selected to A Friend position to both the International Color Marketing Group in Alexandria, Virginia and the American Society of Interior Designers of Washington, DC and Atlanta. The survivors include a son, Jerry Wyndell Henderson of Waycross and Dalton; a sister, Maggie Lou Carver of Greenville, South Carolina; a brother, Bobby L. Dean of Pierce County; a sister-in-law, Doris Dean of Waycross; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Friday night from 7 until 9 o'clock. The Cherokee Council Southeast Georgia Telephone Pioneers are requested to meet at the funeral home Saturday at 1:40 p.m. to serve as honorary pallbears.
