McDaniel, died Saturday morning (3-9-02) at her residence after and extended illness. She was a life long resident of Ware County, daughter of the late Walt Tatum and Ada Pittman Tatum. She was a member of the Winona Park United Methodist Church, the Guiding Light Sunday School Class and the Areme Chapter # 101, O. E. S. She is survived by a son Walter H. McDaniel and his wife Beverly of Waycross; a daughter Karen Overstreet and her husband Luther of Tifton, Ga.; a brother Rudolph Tatum of Waycross; a sister Margaret Douglas of Waycross; three grandchildren Allison McDaniel of Waycross, Jason Overstreet and his wife Hara, Lyndsae Overstreet all of Tifton, Ga.; a great grandchild Landon Overstreet of Tifton, Ga.; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon (3-12-02) at three o'clock at the Winona Park United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Kettle Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home from 7 until 9 o'clock Monday night and have requested that memorial be sent to the Winona Park United Methodist Church. She had been making her home in Hahira, Georgia for the past eleven years. She was born in Waycross, daughter of the late James Edward Hayward and Anna Agnes Lee Hayward and had lived here most of her life where she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Waycross. She is survived by two daughters Anna Chambers and her husband Alvin of Hahira, Ga. and Trudie Thornton and her husband J. R. of Blackshear, Ga.; one son Carl C. Smith, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Brunswick, Ga.; a sister Trudie Corley of Wildwood, Ga.; six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services were held Monday morning (3-11-02) at eleven o'clock in the chapel of the Miles-Odum Funeral Home, with Rev. Steve Kegley officaiting. Burial was in Lott Cemetery.
