Joel, I have a William Rose Taylor (b. 1822) s/o Laban Taylor, Jr. and Sarah Williams. He married Harriett Prescott (b. 1831 Appling County) d/o John Prescott and Martha Unknown. They married 12/3/1850 in Hamilton County, FL. Don't know if this is your William or not, but that is the only William Taylor I have in my database. And this is what I have on a James Lee (b. 06/25/1829 Appling County, GA) m. Catherine Miller: "James Lee was commissioned Captain of the militia in the 1061st district, Clinch County, GA, July 6, 1861, and served in this capacity until the state militia was absorbed into the Confederate Army.
