REVIS LEWIS DIXON Mr. Revis Lewis Dixon, 60, died late Saturday afternoon (Dec. 8, 2001) at the Satilla Regional Medical Center, following a long illness. A Pierce County native, he made his home in Waycross for a number of years and was formerly employed as a meatcutter for Piggly Wiggly and Byrd's IGA. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of a masonic lodge in Arlington, Ga. He attended Baptist church services. His father was the late Lenard Dixon. A son, John Moore Dixon, died in 1976. He is survived by his wife, Judy Lloyd Dixon of Waycross; his mother, Mrs. Ethel Crawford Dixon of Blackshear; his children, Sherry Dixon, Lisa Williams (husband Randy) and Revis Dixon Jr., all of Blackshear, Sandra Dixon (husband Jerry) and Margie McCarthy (husband Jeffery), both of Waycross, and Rodney Dixon (wife Ann) of Alma; three sisters, Linda Carstetter of Jacksonville, Diane Boyett (husband Denny) of Blackshear and Sue Baksh (husband Clif) of Middletown, Del.; four brothers, Avery Dixon (wife Gale) of Douglas, Donald Dixon (wife Betty) of Blackshear, Gerald Dixon (wife Kay) of Cumming, Ga. and Wendell Dixon (wife Sharon) of Jacksonville; 11 grandchildren, David, Keith, Mike, Trey and Logan Dixon, also, Dixon, Olivia and Lucas Williams, Elizabeth and Sarah McCarthy, and Jessica Dixon; and several other relatives. The funeral will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Enon Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Reavis Hickox officiating. Burial will be in the Shiloh Cemetery. "Mack" Crosby, 94, of West 10th Street, died early Wednesday morning (Dec. 12, 2001) at Bacon County Hospital, after a short illness. He served as Bacon County's tax receiver and tax commissioner for 32 years, and he had been a member of Alma United Methodist Church since 1942. He was born in Appling County but made his home in Bacon County most of his life. His wife was the late Lillie Dixon Crosby and his parents were Edgar and Vennie Miles Crosby. He is survived by four sons, McCoy Crosby (wife Nadine), Roy D. Crosby (wife Linda) and Michael Terry Crosby, all of Alma, and J.C. Crosby of Thomasville; three daughters, Nell Copeland (husband Payne) and Joyce DeLoach (husband John), both of Alma, and Jean Meeks (husband Billy) of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Juanita Crosby of Baxley and Aleta Druimond of Jacksonville; 13 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel at Crosby Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Howell, the Rev. Junior Hayes and the Rev. Billy Mac Dyal officiating. The chapel service will be followed by burial in Pine Lawn Cemetery. The family is receiving friends tonight from 6 until 9 o'clock at the funeral home. The pallbearers will be Steve Crosby, Bill Meeks, Merritt Meeks, Brad Copeland, Roy Newberry and Michael Jeffers.
