Sharon, I saw a couple of names mentioned that I knew. Mrs. R. D. Thomas was from Patterson. Mr. and Mrs. Carl J. Broome. This is the Mr. Broome that owned the newspaper. Olivia: I need a bit of help out of NC if possible. I need to find out who the parents of William Martin Sr. And I wonder if perhaps some records of history on this family may have been overlooked in NC long ago when the Martin book was first written by Jenny Martin Fagg my Cousin. According to her, "William Martin Sr. neither his birthplace of date of birth is known. But he was living in Brunswick Co. VA in May on the 11th of 1755 when his son Thomas Martin Sr. R.S. was born. He later moved to Chatham Co., NC and bought 260 acres on the Haw River for Sixty pounds on Nov. 6, 1784 from William Spurlin. William Martin, Sr. received a grant from the State of North Carolina on 23 Sept. 1785 for 314 acres on the Haw River in return for the sum of fifty shillings per hundred acres. GA at times. REASON: DICEY HENDERSON I do believe that there was more than one DICEY HENDERSON over the years. Question: WHICH DICEY HENDERSON was the mother of my Margaret Casey? Did or do some of the HENDERSON found living in Ware Co. GA later on go back to DICEY? And if so which ones? And Which DICEY?
