Dear GAWARE List Members, For the past two years or so, I have been acting as list hostess for this list. I have in the past asked for some of you to volunteer to step in and take my place. However, no one had the time, or were unable for various reasons. So, I have continued. I must say honestly, I do enjoy the list. You, the people, of this list make that the case for me. We have always been blessed to enjoy the finest group of genealogists. I am now officially your list hostess. Judy Roberts is co-hostess. Only because we must have someone in charge, to take care of the mechanics and various things of running a list. It doesn't make us any more important than every other member of this list. It IS our responsibility to see that it upholds the definitions set down by RootsWeb. In the PAST, you have given 'generously', just to name of few ways: of your time, of your data, from your pocketbooks and from your hearts! to various requests made on this list . Notice I did say PAST. That will not be a concern of yours in the future. Giving from your pocketbooks, that is. The only requests you will continue to receive is the sharing of data and your time as permitted by your life situation. This is something most of you do anyhow, without being asked. It is the heart of a true genealogist. Like Joy's sharing of her conviction in desiring to return family mementos to the families. What a heart-warming thought. This GAWARE list is a RootsWeb project and as such; was designed to supply genealogy information free for ALL. This list will be directed toward the discussion and sharing of genealogy data and history concerning the families of this genealogy. You are receiving requests to share things to be posted on the Ware County GenWeb site, please help with any of these projects you can. It is open and free for all. Think of how good it makes you feel to go to a site and find a lot of good data listed. This data has to come from somewhere. It is given by folks just like us. They have given of their time and abilities and their own research data, and made some wonderful resources available for everyone else. One only has to "logon". I look forward to our Ware County Page being one of those good sites folks enjoy, that will benefit many. Many thanks again, to Virginia Crilley and Scott Warren for working in that direction. AND for those of you, who have already given and offered your volunteer services. There will be NO discussion of this on the list. PRO or CON. Privately please if you have anything to say. shadri@perry.gulfnet.com We do not need to discuss business on this list any more. It should never have been done. To the many of you who feel that you have been given nothing but empty promises in the past. I am truly sorry for my part in that. I can only promise you that I will do my best in helping, along with each of you, to keep our great list together and a place to enjoy genealogy. EVERYONE is welcome on this list. It is a new year. To those of you concerned about the items many of us have ordered, or subscribed to in the past...please take it PRIVATELY to Linda Angell. Her e-mail: langell@linkamerica.net I know I join you all when I say, I sure was glad to see that Linda is able to be up and about and online again. I hope her a full recovery soon. She has had a long battle. Well, List Members, I felt I 'needed' to say something. You deserve that. Not meaning to contradict my own self about "no business on the list." However, I know many of you are disheartened, some confused, some may be angry or disillusioned. I plead with you to understand and let's ALL continue on together, with the cause of genealogy. I have learned that things usually work out for the best, if we stay true, and keep the faith. Sharon Driver Wright shadri@perry.gulfnet.com
