Moseley, Sr., 79 (12-28-2001) Toombs Co. native (Music Funeral Home, Waycross) Thomas J. Moseley, Sr. October 06, 1922 - December 28, 2001 Mr. Thomas J. Moseley, Sr., 79, died Friday night (Dec. 28, 2001) at his residence in Blackshear after an extended illness. He is a native of Toombs County, but he has lived most of his life in Pierce County. He worked in the terpentine business, and he also retired three years ago from Ace Pole. He is the son of the late James Franklin Moseley and Mary Elizabeth Odom Moseley. He is preceded in death by a son, Archie Moseley and granson, Archie David Moseley. He is survived by his wife, Maude Moseley of Blackshear; three daughters, Linda DeAngelo of Blackshear, Janice Keen (husband Allan) of Jesup, and Barbara Hagen (husband Lowell) of Bristol; two sons, Tommy Moseley (wife Shirley) of Blackshear, and Lawton Moseley of Blackshear; daughter-in-law, Diane Moseley of Blackshear; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will conducted 11 a.m. Monday (Dec. 31, 2001) at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Blackshear. Burial will follow in Harden's Chapel Cemetery in Toombs County. (http://www.musicfuneralhome.com/obits.html) Mrs. Mary Lounette Howell Cullens, 81, (12-29-2001) Homerville native (Miles-Odum Funeral Home, Waycross) Mrs. Mary Cullens, 81, of Waycross died Saturday morning December 29, 2001 at Baptist Village after an extended illness. Born in Homerville, GA., she was the daughter of the late William Arthur Howell, and Linnie Signor Howell. Her twin sister Jeanette Howell Simpson also preceded her in death. Mrs. Cullens graduated from St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing in 1940. She married the late William Augustus Cullens, Jr. in 1940 and then moved to St. Simons Island in 1944 where she resided for35 years. She was a charter member of St. Simon's Women's Club and the St. Simons Cotillion Club. She was also active in the St. Simons PTA, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and the Casino Garden Club. She has resided in Waycross for the past 10 years where she was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Cullens is survived by a son, William Augustus Cullens III and his wife Ann of St. Simons Island, a daughter, Blanche Cullens Zachry and her husband Tom of Waycross, five grandchildren, William Howell Cullens, Barbara Elizabeth Cullens, William McIntosh Cullens, William Clement Cullens, Thomas Converse Zachry, Jr., two great grandchildren, William Nash Cullens, Will Rainey Cullens, two sisters-in-law, Ann Cullens Robinson, Alys Dawn Cullens Mauch, a special niece, Lucinda Trotter as well as many other nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was a native of Bakersfield, VT before moving to Waycross fifteen years ago, but she has resided in Manor for the past seven years. She was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith. She was the daughter of the late Clyde Bonor and Jeanette Noel Bonor and was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Stanhope and a brother, Raymond Bonor. Surviviors include her husband, George T. Stanhope of Manor; six daughters, Jeanette Elwood of East Berk, VT, Virginia Failing and Tammy Baisley both of Richford, VT, Linda Stanhope of Manor, Debbie Tolley of Homerville and Penny Minchew of Argyle; six sons, Michael Bove of Waterbury, VT, George, Robert and Donald Stanhope all of Richford, VT, Alfred Stanhope of East Berk, VT and David Stanhope of Enosburg, VT; a sister, Pearl Schwartz of Florida, a brother, Frank Noel of Florida; 47 Grandchildren and 66 Great Grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday (January 5, 2002) at the Zenith Baptist Church in Millwood.
