    3. http://www.geocities.com/shezzybug/1850.html Pat and All, Here is the link to images of the THORNTON household. It still looks like 'Aaron' to me. However, the age "7" looks a little odd. I have added it and some other number samples from this Census for y'all to observe. His '7s' usually have a little more of a slanted top on them...let me know what you think. His letter 'S' slants in the other direction, like a modern "S"...and I can't get the other letters to look like "Silas" at all. This is the way his "A" often shows, the cross bar not added or obliterated over time...like the "Os" See the "O" in Thornton...that is how most every one in this Census appears, a curved single line. Easy to mistake with "L" or "C". I am using caps here due to small letters like the "L" which looks like number one when typed. Some of the "As" are absolutely beautiful! Scrolled and crossed. He must have had a very lovely handwriting judging by some of the names on this census. I do imagine like anyone else, tiredness sets in and the writing suffers.
