Wow! Look what's online. http://www.rootsweb.com/~allamar/ Passports issued to folks to pass thru Indian Lands, by Georgia Governors. The introduction will explain it all. Very nice. Found on the Lamar County, Alabama site. It takes a little time to load each index page, it being actual images of the pages. However, it is a RootsWeb site, so no pop-up adds to deal with. Sharon
http://www.geocities.com/conereseach/ Hello Christi and All, I found this site a while back while looking for someone else's line. It is a VERY nice website for genealogy. It is a CONE genealogy, but numerous allied families are included of course. There is a search feature on the site. Maybe you could find some connection to your BROWN with the CONEs here. Sharon
Ms. Linda Clark, Thank you so much for the information about James Bagley. That information helps alot in the fact that his grandfather was born in Va, & moved with his brothers to N.C. I didn't have that information. That info could lead into something more for me. There is something here that I need to do further researching on though. I have Berrien & Ransom Bagley listed as brothers. Berrien & Ransom's father I have as Benjamin Bagley Sr. Benjamin Sr. is who I have as Dr. James Bagley's grandfather. It is possible that I have it all wrong. I really appreciate the info you gave me. Thank you, Joy Spencer
This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Brown, Miller Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Fd.2ADI/521 Message Board Post: Many of you were very encouraging when I first started researching the death of my gg-grandfather, Isham Brown. I have found that his murder is listed in the first vol. of the Georgia Black Book as follows (I don't have the book myself --a kind research librarian read this to me over the phone): Page 362. His murder and murderer are described as being listed in the executive minutes of Coffee County between 1893 and 1896, and his murderer is named as Ephram Miller. Date of the murder is 31 May, 1893. I really want to learn more about what exactly happened, but am stuck up here in DE. Can any of you give me a pointer as to what I should do next? Although the black book mentions Coffee County, I'm pretty sure the murder took place near Waycross. Why would they have listed it in the Coffee County minutes? Any help appreciated! (Will also post on the Coffee County board).

Cathy, Thanks for volunteering. Do you have access to Ancestry or the CD-Rom for Ware? Sharon just ordered the printed book....so that might be a resource as well. I personally like to use a very simple format.... just "text"...but there are templates for most of the census available. I think it depends on what you like to work with. I hate "programs"...and simply can't figure them out. I do my HTML by hand. For templates: http://www.us-census.org/#volunteer Simple format: 9 2 RUSSELL, Ronnie b m 30 10 Mattie wife mu f 28 11 Irene b f 9 dau 12 Eugene b m 7 son 13 Thomas b m 5 s Let's keep working together and build a team of transcribers....
Linda: Ricky Blevins is my husband and the membership should have been listed under my name. Thanks...Teresa Currie Blevins

Hi Joy, The info that is listed is that Dr. James Bagley was born in Ware Co. Ga on 16 January 1866. Ware Co. Ga was also the birthplace of his parents. His paternal grandfather was Ransom Bagley who was born in Virginia and moved with his brothers to North Carolina. One of Ransom's brother settled in Raleigh, North Carolina and the other settled in Alabama. Berrien Bagley was born in what is now Ware Co in 1815. He was a farmer. He died in January of 1908. Berrien Bagley married Eliza Thompson who was the daughter of Rev. Henry Thompson, a Methodist minister. Eliza died at age 80. Berrien and Eliza had twelve children. Ten of those children lived to grow up. There was Mary J., Rachel, Julia, John W., Amanda, James B., Roan H., Thomas Berrien, Francis and Ella. Dr. James Bagley married at age 18 to Lucinda Meeks who was from Clinch Co.Ga. Lucinda was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Meeks. Dr. James and Lucinda had four children. They were: Dr. William Francis Bagley, James Wesley Bagley, Daniel English Bagley and Liney Bagley. Dr. James and his wife Lucinda were members of the Primitive Baptist Church. There is alot more biographical info but this gives you the particulars. We're so lucky to have the 1860 Ware County Census on-line done by Ross Jones. Additionally we have the S-K Publication Index for the 1850 Census. But it would be wonderful to have this whole census on-line. If we could get a team of volunteers who might have access to the 1850 Census, perhaps we could all work together and slowly but surely get this one on-line as well. Virginia Crilley
I've been told that Ware County Courthouse has the Reconstructed Deeds for what I assume would be Deed Book A. Even though the original deeds were destroyed by fire in 1873, these deeds were reconstructed, right after that. I was told that the Atlanta Archives has a microfilm of this work... And also the LDS Libraries. Does anyone on this list have access to any of these sources? Virginia Crilley
Hi Linda, If he is a Bagley from Ware Co., I'm sure he is in my line somewhere. I think I have a couple of James Bagley listed, but not sure if they were Dr's. You say he was listed in the History of Ware Co? Joy
