    3. Sharon and Christi Yes, I have been struggling with some of the names - this is very challenging work! But I love it - I've already come across one of the people on my tree for whom I did not have a spouse yet. Thanks for the good advice. I have found that sometimes you get a better idea of the name by the impression at a glance, than by enlarging and staring really hard at it, too. I, too, am a rank amateur at this.... Cathy

    3. >Just a little advise, don't get frustrated when you can't make out the name. There have been times that I stared at a name so long, trying to determine what it said and thought my eyes were going to fall out of my head. This will be FUN!!! Christi< Christi and All, Had to jump in here. An example of 'staring too long at names', the other evening I looked at a name and it looked for all the world like "Wade" with the little thingy missing off the "d". I kept thinking that the whole word is so clear why just this little piece of a letter missing? I walked away from it awhile. When I came back just kind of casually glanced that way, sneakin' up on it...and there plain as day was "Isaac" Very beautifully written too. Isaace Cooner. My section has been so obliterated in spots I've bout worn out my little magnifying glass. I am going to try and get a bigger one tomorrow. I took the Census book into the sunlight today and made some digital photos. When I enlarged them, I was able to go back and add some names and change some spellings I had not seen before. Plus, me being a rank beginner, I am learning to actually recognize the handwriting as I go along. It is like a mystery on every page. A big job for sure, but the thrill of it maybe helping others down the road, is exciting and encouragement to keep going. I say again to this list "Thank You" for your excellent help. Please do post any corrections to this list so that they can be added. If you see some of your family as we go along talk to us about them. Sharon list hostess shadri@perry.gulfnet.com

    3. Hey, Hey Cathy! Sounds wonderful. I am so excited to think about us having a part in getting this good data for Ware County available for everyone. I am thrilled at the way everyone has jumped in with help in various ways. Especially Christi, who showed me how to format it etc. I think she is somewhere in the 80s or 90s. I started with page 100, am now on 102. Maybe you could jump ahead 20 or so pages? Unless you hear something different from Virginia, this sounds good to me. Isn't this exciting? Sharon I just subscribed to ancestry with images. Could those of you who are working on the 1850 transcription tell me what pages I can help with - or would it be better for me to start on 1870, if that one isn't done yet? Ready to start..... Cathy
