    3. I have pictures of the Hilliard's and Hargreaves graves in Kettle Creek if anyone would like to have a copy? Wanda Hester Hammond dcclark wrote: > In the History Of Ware Co. Ga by Mrs. J. L. Walker ---on page 395 it says that Theresa Hargreaves was the daughter of Mr. Abraham Hargreaves who was descended from John Hargreaves, Hair's House, Colne, Lancaster, England. Abraham Hargreaves inherited $70,000 from his father. Capt. Cuyler Hilliard made two trips England in the interest of the Hargreaves legacy. Capt. Hiliard finally secured the $70,000 in gold left to Abraham Hargreaves and in a most careful way turned over the bag of gold to Abraham Hargreaves. This $70,000 reached Mr. Hargreaves during the troubled days of 1865, and many homes of his relatives were brightened by substantial gifts from him. Captain and Mrs. Hilliard are buried in the Kettle Creek Cemetery in Ware Co. I have found my ggg grandfather James Solomon born 1770 in Virginia on the 1850 ware county census, along with his 36 year old wife Rebecca ( he was 80 yrs old). His son Godwin 37 yrs old ( by another wife) was also listed When I read the census page 104B I was very excited!!! Hadn't really paid much attention til then- Well now you have my full attention!!! and Thanks Ludell

I will keep my eyes open for him as I am going thru these Census. Some of the spellings are quite creative on some of the Census. I have always seen the name Fuqua(y)...but on the 1860 Lafayette County, FL Census today, it was spelled Fukeway. Not one of my lines, it just made me smile when I saw it. I got the 1800 Censuses( sp?) for both North Carolina and South Carolina, the entire states. Haven't even looked at South Carolina and only a small portion of the Mecklenburg County section of North Carolina...I was amazed at all the 'widows' listed! I guess it being so soon after the American Revolutionary War..but it is the beatinest thing you ever saw at the number of widows. Don't know if it will just be Mecklenburg county or all of 'em yet. 3. Wanda, I just got in shipment from AllCensus. I was looking at 1820 Oglethorpe, GA. It is in awful condition. Portions of it are completely unreadable. Tho these folks really tried to bring them out as much as possible. I could be looking right at a kinfolk and not know it. Anyway...I had this JOHN PETTY jump out at me and wondered if he might be yours? You may already know he is there...but just in case wanted you to know I was remembering you. Okay, before sending this I checked and it IS online, but you can barely read it. Mine is darker. He is on page 173 line 11. Sharon

I only repeated what was in the index of the Census. I agree, I hope someone on the list can tell us more. I find myself curious about a lot of these families since working on these Census. Some of these pages were so spotty it was very hard to read them...so it sure helps to have the family input. Thanks to those who have done just this too. Hope some more will jump in with family data. Cathy and Christi, I sure am thankful to both of you, for all the hard work. You two were churning these pages out! And Christi in school too, wow! When I think of all the people it will help down the road...gives me a great feeling to know our GAWARE folks played a part in that. Thank you both very much!
