He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.      The survivors included his wife, Bobbie Ragan Stewart; a son, William Cecil ''Billy'' Stewart both of Waycross; a daughter, Betty Jean Whittmore of Marino Valley, CA; a sister, Martha Kathleen Ray of Maryland; seven grandchildren; several great grandchildren.      A service is planned for 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints . Burial will be held in Kettle Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 o'clock  Friday evening at Music Funeral Home.

Waycross Journal-Herald, Friday, February 2, 2002: RONALD WAYNE CHANCEY BLACKSHEAR--The funeral for Mr. Ronald Wayne Chancey, 37, of Offerman,will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Patterson Assembly of God with burial in the Offerman Cemetery. There will be visitation tonight from 7 until 9 o'clock at Smith Funeral Home in Blackshear. He was a carpenter and a lifelong resident of Offerman. He died Wednesday morning (Jan. 30, 2002) in an automobile accident in Pierce county. His grandparents were the late Ada K. and Edward Wainwright and the late Willie and Bill Chancey. He is survived by a son, Tyler Wayne chancey of New Cumberland, Pa.; his mother, Mary Wanda Faye of New Cumberland; his father, Edward Chancey Sr. of West Palm Beach, Fla.; a sister, Anita Strickland Reisman (husband David) of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; four brothers, Edward Chancey Jr. (wife Janice) of Belvedere, S.C., Stan Kimbrel (wife Cindy) of Offerman and Russell Chancey and Bobby Chancey, both of West Palm Beach; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. NOTE: Mr. Chancey's nephew, David Earl Kimbrel, was also killed in the accident. Monday, February 4, 2002: MR. RONALD CHANCEY, MR. DAVID KIMBREL A funeral service for Mr. ronald Chancey and his nephew, Mr. David Kimbrel, took place Saturday afternoon at the Patterson Assembly of God with the Rev. Larrie Deering officiating. Burial was in the Offerman Cemetery. The pallbearers were David King, Travis Odum, Toby Chancey, Roderick Spivey, Jay King, James Hoag, bubba Aldridge, Brandon Eason, and Richie Herrin. Arrangements were with Smith Funeral Home of Blackshear.
