    1. Re: [GAWARE] Booth vs Victory
    2. Teresa Griffis
    3. I talked with Music Funeral Home and Miles-Odum Funeral Home here in Waycross. Both said it is now Victory Cemetery. Music F.H. said they still refer to both names: Victory (Booth) Cemetery. Have a call in to the pastor of Victory Church (answering machine). Maybe I'll hear back from him. Personally, I would list it Victory (Booth) Cemetery, because some people may not know of the name change. Old obits will have Booth Cemetery. That way, if they do a search for Booth or Victory, they will be able to find it. 3. I'm always totally confused on cemeteries in Ware county! I usually get them in the wrong county as well. Teresa, since I have attributed both these files to you, would you help me sort this out. Which one should be deleted? Thanks... I grew up hearing about Mount Green and I just took it for granted that there was a place. I have been to Millwood thru the backroads from Manor. Question for the List. What is left of Glenmore on Rt 84? What is its history? What is Sandhill on Rt 84 between Glenmore and Manor? Is that the area where some black people lived in a few houses when I was growing up? It is actually listed on Map Quest. Thank you, Christopher

    2. Gary Sullivan
    3. Wanda, Thanks for the great pictures of the Hilliard tombstones and your file on the Silas Hilliard family. I have a few questions I hope you can clear up and a minor difference. You show Benjamin Guy's date of death as May 15, 1893. The microfilm in Bartow Genealogical Library of the Bartow Courier-Informant has obit on Benjamin in 17 May 1893 issue and lists date of death as 14 May 1893. In the Benjamin Hilliard and Mary Beverly family, you have listed as third child, Louvinia b 1842. I find this family on Hillsborough Co. Fl. Census of 1850 with the following people: William 33, Mary 28, Nancy 13, William 11, Edward 9, Matilda 6, Vecy 4, Thomas 2 and James 3/12. By the 1860 census, Benjamin shows up with second wife and 4 yr old Chris. I have seen Louvinia in other researcher's file but have not been able to find out how she was connected to Benjamin. Can you clear this up? Also, where was Mary Beverly Hilliard and all those children in 1860? Any help would certainly be appreciated! --

    3. Wanda, I was going to send this privately, but thought it might help someone else as well. I know this sounds simple, but did you remember to upload both sizes of your photos? That happened to me. I am just learning how to use FrontPage 2000. I have always written my own HTML, love that stuff! ;-) So it [FP] makes automatic thumbs, my first attempt I only uploaded the thumbs. Also, you might want to go to a couple of sites and see how the tags are laid out. All you have to do is right click on the page and select "View Source". Study some other sites that use this feature of thumbs linked to larger pix. You can even hightlight, and copy the tag off that page and paste in your work file, changing to your photo titles of course. <G> On the cemetery page for Ware County, you will see that I did this with FrontPage for Ray's pix of the headstones....on the page where we have Barbara's old postcards...I did that with my own HTML. Also, on the Wiregrass Family Researchers page...on my site you can view some more examples of both ways, that is wrtten by me, or FrontPage 2000. Also, I know Charles Westberry also has many photos with thumbs and he uses Adobe Page Mill. Anyway, it might help to study the tags written by these various ways. I love doing that anyhow. Oh yeah, meant to say, if the site is set up not to allow right clicking, you can still view the html usually, by going up top to your menu and select "View" then "Source". Sharon Sharon, We now have most of the links fixed on the page !!!!!!!!!! Just not the one to click on to enlarge the pictures yet but We're working on it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
