Gail, The relationship would probably be through the Lee family. Wilson Wainright's brother, Woodrow married Mary Elizabeth Lee, daughter of William Raymond Lee and Mary Emma Hickox. William Raymond Lee is the son of John Lee and Mary Mahalia Emily Thornton. This John Lee (1859) is the son of James (CSA) Lee and Catherine Miller, and brother to Martha Lee who married Martin Nettles, parents of Irene Nettles, wife of Albert Lewis Johns, who was also married to Martha Jane Lee, daughter of George Lewis Lee, Sr. and Francis Corbitt/Corbett, who of course was brother to Martha and John Lee mentioned above. Hi Gail, I haven't spent much time in the last year or so on the Prescotts but I do have quite a bit of info on them. My GG grandfather, Andrew Jackson Sullivan, stated on his Indian War pension application that he married Elizabeth Prescott in Aplin (sic) Co Ga in 1838. Would love to find out anything on her! But I do have info on the Prescott's that migrated thru Appling Co GA to Clay Co FL, Orange Co and even down to good ole Highlands Co FL. A lady named Adelle Prescott in Greenville NC is THE expert on these folks and I have several books she compiled on them Gary Sullivan
No problem just hang in there, it will come together one day! Olivia, I know this book is about the Jeremiah E. Johns buried in Hamilton Co. FL.! That's the book I am speaking of....................... I bought a copy as they wanted to claim Jeremiah H. Johns's wife Mary Ann McClelland for a long time. Until I sent to them the toombstone photos of Jeremiah H. and Mary buried in Bachlott Cemetery! I have seen the Grave of Jeremiah E. Johns in Hamilton Co. FL. This book was done by Burton Johns! Sue, First off there were two Jeremiah Johns in Brantley Co. long ago. One lived out in the country and one always lived in Town that is to say Folkston back when Brantley was part of Charleton Co. I should have said. So don't throw up the towel just yet. One Jeremiah was the Jeremiah H. Johns....................most of us all came from who go back on Johns that is................and the one who married Mary Ann McClelland and they are both buried in Bachlott Church of God Cemetery there in Bachlott Community. The other guy, I don't think was around that long and then went back to Hamilton Co. FL. He is buried there! He was the Jeremiah E. Johns.................................. I bought a copy of the book that was done on him, to see if they tried to claim our guy, but alass at the last minute they did not. However some of our kin are in that book and it is a bit mixed up from what I can tell.......................and when I went to the Genealogy dept. of the Statesboro Reginal Library the Genealogy lady there rolled her eyes when I said oh look you have that book on the shelf too! So just keep plugging away at it and NEVER throw out a thing........................................you may need it later on!
