    3. Sue, This William is the son of Leroy Earl "Tink" Thrift of Washington Co. GA who was the Third child and second son of Robert Thrift! He the old man, Leroy had married "Pinky" Coleman {her given name not known} but she was the child of William and Milly Sasser Coleman of Tattnall Co. GA. Leroy the old man was b. and reared in Washignton Co. GA. Abt. 1837 he moved with his Daddy to Houston Co. IN 1838 shortly after his Daddy died Leroy and his two brothers and Sister Penny moved to Tattnall Co. and settled on the Canoochee River. IN the Fall of 1840, Leroy and his brothers: Carr and John moved to Ware Co. and Settled on Cow House Island in the Okefenokee Swamp. Abt. 1841, is when Leroy married "Pinky" shortly after that they moved to Columbia Co. FL. where "Pinkys" Daddy had settled..........................it was there that they had their children and raised them. So William #3 in the list b. 1847 m. Margaret Wildes If this William is kin to you, then your kin to me................again! Because this William is a brother to Moses Thrift b. 1850 who m. Ardelia Lee of course he also married Joannah Davis and then Sofronia Gibson as well! There is a bit more to the story also........................................ Pinky died in 1855. Shortly after her death Leroy and the kids moved back to Ware Co. Leroy bought land lot #396 in the 8th dist. and settled on it. About 1863 he married Elizabeth "Bet" Fullwood b. Jan. 1830 she died May 20, 1902 she was daughter of John and Eliza Mercer Fullwood. IN 1870 Leroy paid the heirs of John Fullwood, Sr. {Bet's brothers and sisters} $300 for land lot #339 in the 8th dist. Leroy and Bet lived on this land until they died. Leroy d. July 14, 1893 at the age of 78. Bet died on April 20, 1902. THEN OVER A COUPLE OF PAGE IS THIS BIO William "Bill" Thrift b. 1847-1909 Son of Leroy and Pinky It has his photo it says Bill Thrift was born in Columbia (now Baker) Co. FL. on March 14, 1847. His parents had moved here from Ware Co., GA on his mothers' wish to live near her Daddy. Bill was only 8 when his Mother died in 1855, after her death his Daddy moved the family back to Ware Co. GA. In 1863 Bills' Daddy moved again and moved the family to a home near Pike Swamp. Bill married Margaret Jane Wildes b. Nov. 15, 1855 d. July 4, 1910. She was the daughter of John and Sarah Nunez Wildes. Bill and Margaret lived in the Boggy Bay area for many years before moving to Braganza in 1890. Bill d. Oct. 26, 1909. Margaret d. July 4, 1910. They were buried in MT. PLEASANT CEMETARY. Children: 1. Julia Marie "Julie" b. Feb. 17, 1876 d. Sept. 27, 1957 m. George Batten 2. John Leroy b. Jan. 28, 1878 d. Jan. 19, 1943 m. Martha Batten 3.     3. All that I have is Robert Lesley Thrift b.12 Dec. 1908 m. Pauline Johnson. He is buried in Dave Hickox Cemetery. I saw a Lesley Thrift listed in the same cemetery, with the same dates. I have no spouse for him. Just wondered if they were the same person. Maybe the person that transcribed the information might have entered him two times, or not. I appreciate all the hard work that people have done to get the information in the cemeteries listed on the site. Chances are I would not get to the cemeteries to look for these people. All of you on the Ware Co. site are always here to share your information with people like me, and I appreciate it. Thank you for trying to help me.     3. According to the book "The Thrifts of Okefinokee" by J.L. Thrift on page 56 it lists as a child of John Leroy Thirft and Lucretia M. Johns Child #5 is Robert Lesley b. Dec. 12, 1908 d. May 31, 1946 m. Pauline Johnson According to this bio John and Lieu as they called her are both buried in David Hickox Cemetery near Hoboken. The Thrifts in this book are NOT indexed..................so did he marry to someone else other than Pauline Johnson that I can check to see if perhaps this book has more on him elsewhere in the book?
