Hi kiddoes, I think we've had some very interesting topics on the list lately--with the surrounding county cemeteries, & towns. I'm almost done with all these marriages--there's still a few, here & there, but when I'm done there & we get most of our remodeling out of the way, how about these projects for our web page: 1) Neighboring Counties--we could do a little more "history" on these, that could be beneficial, & give county seats, etc. 2) Populated Places--we could do some "histories" on these towns, tell some stories about them, what county they're now in, etc. 3) Cemeteries--we could include nearby cemeteries in other counties, & give names of our ancestors buried there, similar to what we've done with Walton cemeteries. I think this could be very beneficial to many of us, as the county did change so much. Give me some feed back--I can't do it without you! Well, I could, but it's OUR web page, & so much more FUN with you! The next "Georgia Settlers" is fixing to come out--in May, right? I've asked Faye (or again, I think I did) to keep us informed on this topic & contents of the coming issues! Isn't it wonderful--all the new info we are getting almost daily? Don't forget (as I have) to order your Barrow County Cemetery book. >From what I've heard it is FANTASTIC!! Also, there's a "new deal" out by Rootsweb (do they ever sleep???) It's called "GenConnect Gateway". If ya'll like I can turn it on (or think I can!haha) What this does, is take any posting that's made from the GenConnect boards, & send it to the GAWALTON list. I would, of course, like your input on this too! Ya'll are the best inputters I know, so will expect to hear from you on these different items, Ok? Now, I know most of you have sent your 2000 Federal Census questionnaires back in, right? Well, if you'd like to see a 2000 Texas (or Redneck) Census, let me know. I can send you one! Just let me know. We still only have $105 for the 1880 Walton Co. census images. We just need $135 more to purchase this one too! It's about time for the 1840 & 1860! These are due in mid April!! I'm so excited--aren't you? "Gen-Sis" Sidney is working so hard on the 1840 transcriptions! She's had several "distractions", but she's like that Energizer Bunny...Keeps goin & goin! Let's see...I believe that's all I have for now! Texas -size Love to all, Momma Walton <>< No offense to anyone, but Can atheists still buy insurance to protect against acts of God?
