    1. [GAWALTON] Re: GAWALTON-D Digest V00 #93
    2. Hi Momma Walton & Gang! The next issue of "Georgia Settlers" comes out the first week in May. Contents: 1. Various announcements - also lists speakers: May 9 - Major Dameon Gause speaking on the war journals of his father, Major Dameon Gause. June 13 - Howard Hancock, Reference Archivist, and 2 or 3 others Archivists will show slides and have great handouts & "take the mystery out of visiting the GA Archives." They will go into details about your trip to the Archives, from start to finish. Most beneficial for those who have not visited! July 11 - Don L. Shadburn, noted author & County Historian for Forsyth Co., and expert on Cherokee Indian lines in GA, will speak on certain Indian Countrymen & their roles in Cherokee GA leading up to the removal years of 1838-39. He has slide photos showing these "larger than life" characters in screen size prints. Sounds really fascinating! 2. County Records section includes: Elbert Co. Superior Ct. Minutes (1806-1811), pp. 1-24 Glascock Co. Marriage Book A, pp. 83-152 Madison Co. Poor School Records for 1831-32 Walton Co. Wills & Estate Records A, 1819-1827, pp. 27-55 Wilkes Co. Poor School Records for 1829 3. Book Corner - announcements & reviews 4. Queries. > The next "Georgia Settlers" is fixing to come out--in May, right? There is a "Barrow Co., GA, Cemeteries" order form at the EGGS web site at: www.rootsweb.com/~gaeggs This is a really great buy at $40 postage paid, hardback over 620 pages! Glad I have my copy! Found some of my ancestors that I thought were buried in Clarke Co. You never know ... EGGS welcomes new members! Dues for 2000 are only $10 which includes the cost of the quarterly. Jim Patton, webmaster for the EGGS site, also posts a 4-generation pedigree sheet for each member who wants their pedigree posted. To join, check out the above web site & there are blank application forms for membership. Also, Momma Walton, I'm sure all of us will be sending out our prayers for Gen-Sis Jennifer! Its an awful situation, and one that shouldn't have to be tolerated! Please let us know the outcome. > I have an urgent request from a "Gen-Sis" Jennifer. It is a request of > prayer. We have several prayer warriors out there, so PLEASE help. Best wishes, Faye
